A number is divisible by two if it is even. Another way to say it is even is if it ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8
258 is divisible by two because it ends in 8, which makes it an even number.

A number is divisible by three if the sum of the digits adds up to a multiple of three. (Remember, the sum of something means you are adding)531 is divisible by three because 5 + 3 + 1 = 9 and nine is a multiple of 3 (or is divisible by three), then 531 is divisible by three.

A number is divisible by 4 if it is even and can be divided by 2 twice.
128 is divisible by 4 because half of it is 64 and 64 is still divisible by 2 (even)

A number is divisible by 6 if it is divisible by BOTH 2 and 3.
222 is divisible by 6 because it is even, so it is divisible by 2 and its digits add up to 6 which makes it divisible by 3

A number is divisible by nine if the sum of the digits adds up to a multiple of nine. (This rule is similar to the rule for three)9243 is divisible by 9 because the sum of the digits adds up to eighteen, which is a multiple of nine.
