    Led startup operations. District needed to open new store but lacked adequate staffing and management as well as leadership in meeting Targets merchandising standards. Hired, trained and managed all Sales Associates, and oversaw logistics functions. Opened store on time, producing #1 sales gain and exceeding district plan by $3M.

    Turned around struggling district. Charged with improving performance of Ross Stores district that for 10+ years ranked #75 of 75 company districts. Developed and implemented a Performance Action Plan for the management team and introducednew sales/operations tools. Led District to #7 ranking and 19.3% comp in just one year.

    Built strong management team. Kohls had an urgent need to staff the districts Executive Management Team. Canvassed personal sales leadership network and recruited top, seasoned area managers. Successfully completed Executive Team, earningselection as University of WA Recruiting Captain, representing Kohls at major job fairs.

    Revitalized sales force. Hired as the Brand Central Manager for Sears operation,

    with key responsibilities to ignite the sales team and boost revenue/profit from Maintenance Agreement sales. Trained all Sales Reps to execute the "CounselorSelling Process" using features/benefits to advocate products and services, doubling targeted goals.

    CAREER HISTORY

    General Manager, Kohs Stores, 2008 to May 2010. Recruited for District Manager position, but selected for turnaround of major store as part of corporate strategy to increase profits. Hold P&L responsibility and manage all store operations a

    s well as develop (3) Exec. Assistant Store Managers. Oversee 150 staff and $1.3M budget.Ross Stores, 2004 to 2008. Held management positions in several locations for $4.2B retail organization.

    District Manager, 2006 to 2008. Held responsibility for P&L and all aspects of district operations that included ten individual stores encompassing 26 direct salaried managers, 500-600 associates and $4.9M budget. Recruited, trained and developed management teams.

    Store Manager, 2004 to 2006. Managed all operations. Executed business plan andassociated programs to exceed sales/profit results, while maintaining superior customer service. Oversaw 60 staff and $520K budget.

    Executive Team Leader, Target Stores, 2002 to 2004. Directed and facilitated allsales transitions to optimize the customers shopping experience. Oversaw 12 Department Managers and controlled $1.1M budget for $32B retailer.

    Assistant Store Manager, Sears & Roebuck, 1998 to 2002. Applied management and leadership principles to boost sales/profits in several lines of business for this $40B retail organization. Oversaw 250 staff (including 43 commissioned sales reps), logistics and $1.3M budget. Promoted from Brand Central Manager.

    Earlier: District Trainer/Store Manager, Kinney Shoes. Responsible for all daily

    operations, P&L and 12 staff.
