In addition, at least one of your active councils has to attain one of the levels of Star Council. For the most up-to-date information on your quotas, please log on to Officers Online. Award winners receive a wall plaque and a Star District lapel pin, and the district deputies who earn the Star District Award are entered into a drawing to attend the Supreme Convention. Congratulations on being appointed a District Deputy! We wish you success in the coming fraternal year. This newsletter is published to help you during your term of office. As you start the 2018-19 fraternal year, if you have not already done so, here are three important reminders: Take your District Deputy training course. By early July, all District Deputies (newly appointed and re-appoints) should have access to the secure Officers Online section of kofc.org . Once logged in, click on the “Fraternal Training” icon to go to the Fraternal Training Portal. If you have difficulty with signing in, please contact our Customer Service Dept. at 1-800-380-9995. Reach Out. Reach out to each grand knight in your district to lay the foundation for success this year. Communication, early and often, is key to success at the council and district level. After your organizational meeting, please plan a district level meeting to share important news and directives from the State and Supreme Councils. Reporting. Remind councils, if they have not already done so, to submit the Report of Officers Chosen for the Term #185 (OR complete the Officers Screen on Member Management) and the Service Program Personnel Report #365 (OR complete the Service Personnel Screen on Member Management) as soon as possible.

FAITH IN ACTIONEven more information about the new programmodel “Faith in Action” has been recently posted onkofc.org, including new one page sell sheetsoutlining each program and how to conduct it. Visitkofc.org/faithinaction today!

SOCCeR CHALLeNGeHeld from September through mid-November, theKnights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is acompetition designed for players to demonstratetheir skills in the penalty kick. It is open to all youngpeople ages 9-14. The district deputy should plan to run the districtcompetition during October, making all necessaryarrangements for site location, council notificationand awards. Entry forms/score sheets (#4578) ofcouncil winners should be given to the district deputyby the participating councils prior to the competition.District Deputies should order their limit of onepackage of District Soccer Award medallions (12total – one each for a boy and a girl in the 6 agecategories). Medallions can be ordered through

Supplies Online, which canbe accessed in the OfficersOnline Portal. They are nolonger ordered through theSupreme Council SupplyDept. nor are they handedout at jurisdiction meetings. For more information,please visit kofc.org/soccer.
