    Dispatch Software Application SmartPTT Test Procedure

    2013

    This document contains information about test procedures of SmartPTT application regarding its general

    functionality in IP Site Connect Network. It doesnt contain information about specific features testing and

    MOTOTRBO equipment testing. Procedures may vary depending on required and frequently used functionality

    for each customer.

    1. Test Procedure of SmartPTT general functionality

    Launch Radioserver Configurator:

    go to Startmenu->All Programs-

    >SmartPTT->Radioserver

    Configurator

    SmartPTT Radioserver Configuratorapplication is started.

    Take a look at the main window of

    Radioserver Configurator. Make sure

    that Service state is Started.

    If Service state is Stopped, click onStart button to start the Service.

    Service state is Started.

    1.2. Launching SmartPTT Dispatcher application

    Launching SmartPTT Dispatcher application

    Launch SmartPTT Dispatcher at the

    Dispatcher work station: go to Startmenu->All Programs->SmartPTT->

    SmartPTT Dispatcher.

    Login window is launched.

    2 Choose Operatorand enterPassword

    (if its set for chosen Operator), click

    OKbutton.

    Authorization in the system is successful

    and SmartPTT Dispatcheris launched.

    3 Make sure that all components are

    available in Subscriber Panel in the list

    ofOnline subscribers.

    In the list ofOnline Subscribers all

    necessary slots, groups and subscribers are

    displayed.

    2. Test procedure of Dispatcher-Radio communication

    2.1. Subscriber radio registration on Dispatcher Console

    1 Switch theRadio A on Radio A sends registration request to the

    SmartPTT Radioserver.

    Radio status is changed to Online.

    the slot 2 of the same repeater (IP Site

    Connect Network).

    2.5. Emergency Alarm

    2 Press PTT on theRadio A. Half-duplex communication is established

    between Dispatcher,Radio A and Radio B

    which are included to Group 1 (Group 1 is

    assigned to PTT button by default).

    In SmartPTT application you will see pop

    up Group Call Window in which event type

    (Emergency Call) and time are displayed.

    3 Release PTT on theRadio A and press

    PTT button in the Group Call

    Window.

    Radios A andB included to Group 1will

    hearEmergency Group call.

    4 When call is ended, in subscriber

    panel click on right arrow to expand

    Slot 1 (channel) menu.

    and select Exit Emergency Mode.

    SmartPTT turns offEmergency mode. Red

    channel highlighting goes off.

    5 OnRadio A press button assigned to

    turn off emergency mode.

    Radio A goes out ofEmergency mode.

    2.7. Call Alert

    2.8. Radio Check

    and select control stations which

    should be used to check the subscriber

    SmartPTT application. You will see

    information about subscriber availability:

    3 Switch offRadio A.

    Repeat actions from paragraphs 1-2.

    2.9. Radio Monitoring by Dispatcher

    2.10. Blocking and Unblocking Radio by Dispatcher

    Window. In Call window click on

    Block Radio button to block the radio.

    Radio A receives block command and it is

    turned to inactive mode. Radio is disabled.

    Nothing is displayed on its screen. Radio

    does not response to clicking actions and itdoes not revert to normal operating mode

    even if you power it down and then up.

    2 ClickUnblock Radio in Subscriber

    Call Window.

    Radio A receives command to unblock the

    radio, and radio is reverted to normal

    operating mode.

    2.11. Text Message Exchange between radio subscribers andDispatcher

    Window. In Text Message field type

    text message and press Send Button or

    Enter on your keyboard.

    Radio A receives Text message and it is

    displayed on radio screen.

    In Subscriber Call Window you will see

    text of the message and delivery time. It

    means that text message is delivered to the

    Radio A.

    2 Go to menu ofRadio A and select

    Messages->Write. Type text message,

    press OKand then Send. SelectDispatcher Contact Name (PC Contact

    orPrivate Contact) and press OK.

    On SmartPTT Dispatcher Console pop up

    Subscriber Call Window is appeared in

    which text of the message and time aredisplayed.

    3 In Subscriber Paneldouble click on

    Group 1 (in whichRadio A,B and C

    are included) to open Group Call

    Window. In Text Message field type

    text message and press Send Button or

    Enter on your keyboard.

    Radios A,B and Creceive text message

    and it is displayed on their screens.

    On SmartPTT Dispatcher Console pop up

    Group Call Window is appeared with the

    following information: Time> Message

    is sent Text.

    4 In Subscriber Paneldouble click on

    Radio A to open Subscriber Call

    Radio A receives Text message and it is

    displayed on radio screen.

    Window. Click on Message button

    (which is nearSendbutton) to open

    Send Message Window. Select

    Template and click on Send button.

    In Subscriber Call Window you will see

    text of the message and delivery time. It

    means that text message is delivered to the

    Radio A.

    2.12. Deferred actions

    In Subscriber Paneldouble click on

    Radio A (even if its in Offline List of

    subscribers) and select CreateDeferred Action.

    Create Deferred Action Window is opened.

    2 In Create Deferred Action Window

    click on Record button and start

    recording voice message. After you

    finish click on Stop button. Click on

    Save button to save recorded file as

    deferred action.

    Audio message is recorded and saved. (To

    make sure that file is saved, go to Service-

    >View deferred actions->select

    Radioserverand click on Load action list).

    3 Switch onRadio A. As soon as theRadio A registers in Online

    List of Subscribers, Loudspeaker ofRadio

    it will receive recorded file.

    In Subscriber Paneldouble click on

    Radio A (even if its in Offline List of

    subscribers) and select Create

    Deferred Action.

    Create Deferred Action Window is opened.

    2 In Create Deferred Action WindowtickSend text message field and type

    text. After you finish click on Save

    button.

    Note. Unselect Send Audio Message

    if you send only deferred text message.

    Text message is saved. (To make sure thatit is saved, go to Service->View deferred

    actions->selectRadioserverand click on

    Load action list).

    Switch onRadio A. As soon as theRadio A registers in Online

    List of Subscribers, message will be

    delivered toRadio A.

    3. Phone Calls Test Procedure (IP Site Connect Network)

    3.1. Private Phone Call initiated by phone subscriber

    Private Phone Call initiated by phone subscriber

    1 DialRadio AID from the phone.

    If there is anyPrivate Call Mask

    specified in Radioserver Configurator,

    first dialPrivate Maskand thenRadio

    ID.

    Loudspeaker of the Radio A produces the

    sound which notifies user about incoming

    2 Press PTT on theRadio A Two-way half-duplex communication isestablished between phone subscriber and

    Radio A.

    3 Hang up to end phone call. Connection betweenRadio A and phone

    subscriber is broken. Loudspeaker of the

    Radio A produces the busy tone which

    notifies radio subscriber that phone call is

    ended.

    3.2. Group Phone Call initiated by phone subscriber

    users about incoming phone call.

    2 Press PTT on one of the radios. Half-duplex communication is established

    between phone subscriber and group ofradio subscribers. (Many-to-Many

    Communication)

    3 Hang up to end phone call. Connection between Group 1 and phone

    subscriber is broken. Loudspeakers of the

    radios produce the busy tone which notifies

    radio subscriber that phone call is ended.

    1 Go to menu ofRadio A and select

    Contacts->Manual Dial->Phone

    Number. Type phone number and

    press OK.

    If you have predefined phone number

    in Contact List, you can choose it and

    press OK. Select Call Phone and click

    OKone more time.

    Phone Subscriber hears incoming

    telephone call.

    Loudspeaker of theRadio A informs thatphone is ringing andRadio A is waiting

    when phone subscriber picks up the phone.

    When the phone subscriber picks up the

    phone, he hears notification tone that this

    call is from radio network.

    Two-way half-duplex communication is

    established between phone subscriber and

    Radio A.

    Loudspeaker of theRadio Aproduces short

    tonewhichnotifies that the connection is

    established successfully.

    2 Press BACKbutton on theRadio A

    keypad to end phone call

    Connection betweenRadio A and phone

    subscriber is broken. Loudspeaker of the

    radio produces the busy tone which notifies

    radio subscriber that phone call is ended.

    On the screen of theRadio A you will see

    message Ending Phone Call.

    3.4. Phone call between Radio and Phone subscribers initiated by Dispatcher

    Window. Click on Call Telephone

    Subscriber and select Phone

    subscriber to connect. If there is no

    necessary phone number in the list of

    phone subscribers, click on Dial

    button and enter phone number. Then

    clickConnect.

    Phone subscriber selected by Dispatcher

    hears incoming phone call tone.

    Loudspeaker of theRadio A informs about

    incoming Phone Call.

    On SmartPTT Dispatcher Console you will

    the current phone call status: Ringing.

    2 Establish the connection by picking up

    the phone.

    Two-way half-duplex communication is

    established between phone subscriber and

    Radio A.

    On SmartPTT Dispatcher Console you will

    the current phone call status: Call.

    3 Hang up to end phone call. Connection betweenRadio A and phone

    subscriber is broken. Loudspeaker of the

    radio produces the busy tone which notifies

    radio subscriber that phone call is ended.

    On the screen of theRadio A you will see

    4. Test Procedure of GPS functionality.

    4.1.Saving GPS coordinates in database

    go to Settings->GPS

    GPS Settings Window is opened.

    2 TickSave GPS Locations in

    Database. ClickFinish.

    GPS Settings Window is closed.

    GPS information will be saved to database.

    4.2.Receiving and Processing GPS Locations from Radio Subscriber

    1 Provide GPS signal reception byRadio

    . (Place the radio outdoor for some

    time or go outside with the radio)

    Sometimes it can take some time to

    receive GPS signal (about 10 minutes).

    On the screen of theRadio A you will see

    filled satellite antenna sign. That means

    that radio receives and processes GPS

    signal.

    2 In Subscriber Panelright-click on

    Radio A to open Subscriber Call

    Window and tickGPS Support and

    Show on Map (specify period of GPS

    location update). Click on Save

    button.

    In the main menu of SmartPTT

    Dispatcher go toMap->and open map

    to see subscriber on it.

    Subscriber Properties Window is closed.

    Radio A sends its location information

    according to GPS update time period.

    On the map you will see Radio icon with

    the actual GPS coordinates.

    4.3.Turning off GPS Location Requests from SmartPTT

    4.4.Show subscriber on the map

    Show radio subscriber on the map

    Radio A to open Subscriber Call

    Window and click on Find on Map

    button.

    On the map you will seeRadio A icon with

    the current coordinates.

    If there are no valid GPS locations, then

    radio icon will be shown with the last

    received coordinates (saved in database).

    5. Test Procedure of Sound Recording.

    Listening Recorded Calls

    1 In SmartPTT Dispatcher click on Event

    Logs in the Main Menu bar and select

    All Events.

    The system event log appears.

    2 Select several events which contain

    sound records and click on Play

    Selected Records button.

    Play Records Window opens. Recorded

    files are sorted by date. Automatically the

    first record is played.

    3 Click on Go to next record button. Dispatcher starts to play the second record.

    4 Click on Return to previous record

    button.

    Dispatcher starts to play the first record.

    5 Click on Stop Playbackbutton. File playing stops.
