Although the name of our preschool has

changed over the years, our program’s ability to

discover and carefully nurture the strengths in all

students is a constant.

La Crescent-Hokah Early Childhood Discovery

Preschool takes its name and purpose very seri-

ously. We work every day to ensure a well-

rounded and developmentally appropriate pre-

puts the needs and interests of each individual child

at the center of every decision we make.

Discovery programming addresses all areas of

your child’s development; social emotional, large

and small motor, language, and cognitive. Discov-

ery Preschool takes great pride in being able to offer

preschool that truly prepares the whole student for

Kindergarten.

One of the greatest assets of

Discovery Preschool is its loca-

tion in La Crescent-Hokah Ele-

mentary. Attending preschool

in the elementary building al-

lows your student and her

teachers access to the entire facility including on-

site surround care (see additional panel), food ser-

vice that includes options for breakfast and lunch,

two gymnasiums, a full playground, the entire ele-

mentary library, as well as technology resources. In

addition, staff and students are privileged to benefit

from having the expertise of a licensed school nurse,

educational psychologist, and specialist educators

on site.

familiar with the build-

ing and staff that will be

K-4 experience.

93% met fall reading benchmarks on MAP assess-ments in Kindergarten

90% met fall math benchmarks on MAP assessments in Kindergarten.

tour, “Mom and Dad, don’t worry. I know this place

already. This is my school!”

In response to a parent asking about her day at pre-

school, “It was a great day! I got to see my big sister

twice today! I saw her when we were going to the

gym and again on our way to library!”

DISCOVERY COMPANY CURRICULUM-BASED SURROUND CARE

During the hours between 8am and 3pm when

your child is not attending their section of Discovery

Preschool, Discovery Company provides professional,

quality child care that strives to meet each child's

physical, emotional, social, and developmental needs.

This structured childcare program utilizes the

Creative Curriculum to extend preschool learning

throughout the day.

Full-time Discovery Com-

pany Enrollment is available

five days per week for Dis-

covery Preschool 3K and 4K

Plus students (M-F care

while not attending their re-

spective preschool class).

Rates vary depending on pre-

school class section.

Part-time Discovery

Company Enrollment is

available for children on

their respective Discovery

Preschool 3K, 4K, and 4K

Plus class days per week.
