February 6th Digital Learning Day @ SGT Yano Library In observance of Digital Learning Day, Sgt Yano Library will be hosting a program that showcases FREE OF CHARGE digital resources available to registered library users. Learn how to use our catalog like a pro, gain access to Zinio Magazines, learn how to sign up for online classes, explore our e-book and e-audio book collection, and more. February 6th Mission Training Lifeguard Class @ Richardson Pool Open to all Active Duties Soldiers. Soldiers must go through Training NCO to have roster submitted to the Richardson Pool POC Ms. Babette Hendry. There will be a swim test given on February 6, to pre - qualify for the course. If you are one of the 1st 30 swimmers to complete the swim test you will be enrolled. Course dates: Feb 7 - Feb 21, 2014; 8:00 - 12:00 pm. Cost: $175 per student. This course includes Lifeguarding skills, First Aid, CPR-AED, Oxygen administration and the Water front certifications. POC: Babette Hendry - 655-1128. Note: You MUST be a proficient swimmer. Walk off the Wait; Ma`akua Ridge TrailFebruary 11 – Northeaster Oahu

Walk off the Wait with Blue Star Card on Tuesday, February 11th, as we hike the Ma`akua Ridge Trail (Papali Trail). Ma`akua Ridge Trail is about 2.9 miles long and located near Hau‘ula, Hawaii. The trail is great for trail running and normally takes 2-3 hours, and it’s a nice distance, and with lots of shade. This hike is a beginner to intermediate trial, with a great picture opportunity from the lookout. Super Saturday: February 22 – Ft. Shafter CDC

Blue Star Card was a recipient of a generous welfare grant for the Hui O’ Wahine of Fort Shafter to bring Super Saturday Childcare to Blue Star Families. Super Saturdays will be held on February 22 from 9 am – 2 pm at the Ft. Shafter CDC. Super Saturday’s are open to children of Blue Star Card holders 6 weeks through 12 years of age. Families with soldiers on a combat deployment are eligible starting 30 days prior to deployment and up to 90 days after redeployment. Registration is required and space is limited. Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay February 28 – Hanauma Bay

Countdown another month of deployment complete at Hanauma Bay from 8:30- 1:30pm. Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, one of the most spectacular natural resources in Hawaii, is reaping the benefits of over a decade of moves to re-establish its pristine marine ecosystem. Join BSC on this adult only fun filled day of snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Roundtrip transportation and childcare will be provided. Your Blue Star Card will be valid throughout the entire mission. Blue Star Card Event No-Show PolicyIf you register for a Blue Star Card event and cannot attend the event, you must cancel your reservation by 12:00 pm (noon) the day before the event. If you fail to cancel your reservation and do not attend, you will be considered a no-show, which will result in you automatically being wait-listed for the next month’s events. It is our goal to include as many Blue Star Card holders as possible in our events, by implementing this policy; we hope to achieve this goal.
