  1. 1. Discover Ways To Make Your Pregnancy More Enjoyable Pregnancy is one of life's greatest joys. With the right information, you can make sure that your pregnancy goes smoothly. Keeping your body healthy will assure that your growing fetus stays healthy, as well. Use these tips to help you stay healthy and happy during your pregnancy. When you are pregnant, your bladder capacity is diminished. To sleep better, plan your water intake accordingly. Ensure you drink plenty of water, but limit the amount of fluids you drink after dinnertime. This will prevent you from having to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Maternity bras and clothing should be purchased right when you need them. They will make you comfortable and having clothes that you need for leaving the house while pregnant will come in very handy. Don't be embarrassed to buy maternity clothing early. It is up to you to make the right choices in comfort and fashion for yourself. Avoid gaining a lot of weight during pregnancy. If you put on too much weight while pregnant, you risk impacting your health later, as the weight will be difficult to take off. As a guideline, a woman of average height should gain no more than 15-30 pounds during the course of her pregnancy. Maintain good dental hygiene during pregnancy and keep seeing your dentist regularly. There are many dental problems that can be caused by pregnancy, so stay on top of them! Be certain to keep brushing two times a day, floss and use mouthwash. Do not delay in seeing your dentist if you experience any issues. Avoid Vitamin A when you are pregnant. It can cause problems in embryos if taken in larger doses. Don't eat foods with this vitamin. You should avoid foods like egg yolks, mangoes, liver, and mozzarella cheese. Some of these foods are fine, but don't eat them every day. During your pregnancy, you must not neglect your partner. Chances are very high that they are as apprehensive as you about becoming a parent and need comfort and reassurance. Try going on a walk or to the movies to spend time together. Enjoy the time you have before your new addition comes! If your feet swell up during pregnancy, discuss it with your physician. This is sometimes a part of pregnancy, but it can be a warning sign of preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is dangerous and causes high blood pressure. You will need medical treatment if you get this condition. When possible, swim for exercise when you are in your last trimester. Swimming allows your body to relax from the stress of carrying all the extra weight and allows you to work muscles you would not be able to otherwise. The floating, weightless feeling of the water also relaxes you and your baby. To extend the life of your non-maternity pants, use a simple elastic hair tie looped through the button hole and over the button, zipping the pants only as far as you can. When you have a shirt long enough on, no one will be able to see this makeshift hook. This will help you keep from buying so many maternity clothes. Talk to the baby in your belly. Studies show a baby can respond to touch at approximately ten gestational weeks. Several weeks later, your baby can hear your voice, plus respond to light. Talking with your growing baby will give you a stronger bond.
