*The Qsilica Restore Intensive Facial Oil does not require preservation as such because the oil environment is not conducive to microorganismgrowth.

** PEG stands for Polyethylene Glycol. Ethylene Glycol is polymerised to different weights to give it different features. When the PEG isadded to a fat (naturally derived; from natural sources) you get a surfactant. The fatty tail is oil loving and the ethylene glycol head is waterloving. This gives the new ingredient surface-active properties and can turn it into a surfactant or an emulsifier.

PEG based surfactants are used in almost all pharmaceutical ointments, creams and lotions as they can be made to very high purity levelsand are less variable than natural surfactants. They have a very long history of safe use.
