Marci Lynn McGuinness published the wedding guide, "Tying the Knot," in St. Michaels, Maryland several years ago. There, she performed over 100 wedding ceremonies along the Chesapeake Bay as an officiant. The photo on the right is from the Maple Hall Country Inn in Claiborne, MD, 4 miles south of St. Michaels.

From lighthouses, to private islands, homes, resorts, and inns, McGuinness assisted nondenominational couples in "Tying the Knot."

Couples looking to use an officiant to perform their wedding ceremony in Pennsylvania must get a "Self-uniting marriage license" at the county clerk's office in the county where you will marry.

Fayette County Clerks Office phone number: 724-430-1253.

If you acquire a Self-uniting marriage license, you are not required to use a clergyman who is part of an organized church to preform your wedding ceremony. You may get married your way. Your ceremony must have 2 witnesses. The officiant may be counted as a witness if necessary.

McGuinness offers a selection of vows. You may write your own vows, add a poem, etc.

Contact: [email protected] or call 724-710-2919McGuinness charges $350. to perform a local wedding ceremony.
