    the scenery outside and from

    the moment you embark you

On the sundeck you will find a pool surrounded by sun beds but

with additional seating available in a shaded area where you canrelax as you watch the world go by. See the timeless life along the

banks of the Nile as you sail by palm trees and fields of bananas

and sugar cane; young children splashing in the river and women

with their daily laundry line the banks of the Nile.

The lounge bar is the perfect place to sit and unwind at the end

of a busy days sightseeing and enjoy a drink before dinner.

Drawing inspiration from the traditions of Egypt, the distinctive

entertainment programme includes belly dancing, Nubian dancers

and musicians not forgetting the legendary and hugely entertaining

Galabeya party night when you will have the opportunity (if you wish)

to join in some light hearted fun and dress up in traditional Egyptian

costume. The on board gift shop provides an array of souvenirsand postcards plus basic travel essentials.

DININGOne of the pleasures of cruising is the food and a tempting selection

of international and Egyptian cuisine is served in the on board

the day with a buffet breakfast

with a choice of fruit juices,

    tea and coffee, cereal, rolls

    selection of starters including

    salads and delicious soups

    with fresh rolls and breads.

    Choose from a range

    of main courses

    including chicken, beef

    and fish dishes, fresh

    vegetables, pasta and

    rice. For dessert, take

    your pick from superb

    pastries and creamy

    puddings whilst a

    healthy option of

    fresh fruit is usually

available if you prefer. Vegetarian options are also plentiful.

To accompany your meal, you can choose to purchase from a range

of soft drinks, beer, wine or bottled water. Afternoon tea and cake

CRUISE ITINERARIES Nile Cruise itineraries and excursions can, for operational reasons,be subject toalteration locally at short notice. With the introduction of a second lock at Esna it is anticipated that there will

no longer be the need to close it during June and early December. If a lock closure does occur then guests

will join and leave the boat in Esna. Cruises will then sail Esna-Aswan-Esna.All excursions will take place but

not necessarily in the order given. During certain periods the boat may have to sail after dark therefore the

number of hours of daylight sailing is subject to change.

When the boat is moored, vessels may have to berth alongside each other restricting views and requiring

clients to pass through a number of boats to disembark.Upon disembarkation clients will be required to

walk along a gangplank and there may be steps to climb. For this reason we do not recommend Nile cruises

for the disabled or those with impaired mobility.

Alexander The Great operates from a Tuesday to Monday which means the first night on arrival will be spent

    at a hotel in Luxor.

TIPPING & ON BOARD ACCOUNTS All meals on our Nile cruises are included. The only additionalexpenses are drinks (unless on All Inclusive basis where drinks are included), tips, souvenirs and optional

excursions available on board.A credit system operates on board the boat whereby all extras will be billed to

your cabin and settled at the end of your cruise. There are limited money exchanging facilities on board so it

is advisable to ensure that you have enough local currency although your guide will allow time for a bank stop

during your cruise.Tipping is a way of life in Egypt. People in the service industry rely heavily on tips. On a Nile

cruise you will be asked to pay an amount at the start of your cruise from which your guide will pay all tipping

onshore throughout your holiday. It is then customary to tip the staff on board at the end of the cruise.

ACCOMMODATION Our accommodation is normally based on 2 adults sharing a standard cabin orroom with facilities as specified in the respective description. In the case of a sole occupancy,a supplement

will be chargeable. The third bed in a triple room/cabin is normally a foldaway or sofa-bed.

We prefer to use our own rating system for all featured accommodation based on the views and appraisals
