GETTINGSTARTEDJesusbeganHisministrymakingdisciples.BeforeHeascendedHecommanded:‘Goandmakedisciples of all nations.’ (Matthew28:19)1This isour commission.On the eveningofHisresurrection,Hesaid:‘AstheFatherhassentme,Iamsendingyou.’(John20:21)AdiscipleisapersonwhoineverywayisbecomingmorelikeJesus(Ephesians4:15)—including,asdisciple-makers.AnewchurchisagatheringofnewdisciplesWhiletheGospelsoutlineJesus’methodandmodelofdisciplemaking,thebookofActsis our guidebook for planting new churches.
