Disassembly procedure 3 - 1 Disassembly Procedure Please follow the information provided in this section to perform the complete disassembly procedure of the notebook. Be sure to use proper tools described before. SUS W2V Series Notebook consists of various modules. This chapter describes the procedures for the complete notebook disassembly. In addition, in between procedures, the detailed disassembly procedure of individual modules will be provided for your service needs.     Disassembly Procedure Please follow the information provided in this section to perform the complete disassembly procedure of the notebook. Be sure to use proper tools described before.

    SUS W2V Series Notebook consists of various modules. This chapter describes the procedures for the complete notebook disassembly. In addition, in between procedures, the detailed disassembly procedure of individual modules will be provided for your service needs.

    Battery Module The illustration below shows how to remove the battery module. Turn over the notebook. 1. Slide the battery lock (No.1) to unlock.

    2. Slide the battery lock (No.2) and pull the battery pack out.

    HDD Module The illustrations below show how to remove the HDD module from the notebook. Removing HDD Module 1. Remove 2 screws (M2 *13(W) and lift away the HDD cover,

    2. Remove 3 screws (M2*4L) and pull out the hard drive.

    Disassembling HDD Module 3. Remove 4 screws (M2*2.3L) to separate HDD from HDD housing.

    Memory Module The W2V Series Notebook comes standard with Two expansion SO-DIMM socket for you to upgrade the total memory up to 1GB with two 512MB SO-DIMM RAM module. Removing Memory module 1. Remove 2 screws (M2*4L) and lift away the DIMM cover.

    2. Remove Memory by (No. 2 ) opening the latches and lift the cover away

    which will pop the module up to a 45° angle, and then pulling out the module in that angle (No. 3).

    ODD Module The illustration below shows how to remove the ODD module. 1. Remove 1 screw (M2*2.3L) and 1 screw (M2*3L) and a rubber from the

    bottom case.

    2. Put the screw driver here and push the ODD drive out from the NB.

    TV TUNER Module The illustration below shows how to remove the TV TUNER module. 1. Remove 2 screwS (M2*4L) from the bottom case.

    2. Disconnect the RF cable to the Blue tooth connect and remove the BT.

    3. Disconnect the RF cable (No.2) from the TV TUNER module and remove

    the TV TUNER module from the mini-PCI socket. (If only have Analog cable,just connect 1 cable.)

    CPU Module The illustrations below show how to remove the CPU module from the notebook. Removing CPU 1. Remove 1 screw (M2*3L) and lift the cover away.

    2. Remove a warranty label and remove 4 screws (M2*8L) then remove the

    Heat sink module.

    3. Use vacuum handling tool to insert CPU to Molex socket .Turn the

    non-removable screw here 180 degrees clockwise to secure the CPU.

    Keyboard The illustration below shows how to remove the keyboard Removing Keyboard 1. Remove 5 screws (M2*2.3L) on the bottom case.

    2. Turn over the NB to take away the cover here.

    3. Disconnect the KB FPC and take away the KB.

    Wireless LAN Module The illustration below shows how to remove the Wireless LAN module. 1. Remove two Antenna cables here.

    2. Remove the Wireless LAN module by opening the latches which will pop the module up to a 45° angle and then pulling out the module in that angle just like memory module.

    Top Case Module The illustrations below show how to disassemble and remove the top case module of the notebook. The module contains the top case itself and touch pad module. Removing Top Case Module 1. Disconnect LED Board cable and Touch pad FPC and S/W Board cable.

    2. Remove 1 screw (M2*2.3L) and 1 yellow tape from top case.

    3. Remove 1 screw (M2*3L) and 3 screws (M2*10L) on Top case.

    4. Remove 6 screws (M2.5*16L) and 3 screws (M2*10L) and 14 screws

    (M2*8 L) and 1 screws (M2*13L)d Bottom case.

    5. Remove 2 screws (M2.5*4L) on both side.

    6. Remove 2 mylar and 2 screws (M2.5*4L).

    7. Separate Top case from the Bottom case.

    8. Remove 3 tapes and take away antenna and coaxial cable from the M/B from the joint.

    9. Disconnect the Speaker cable and remove 1 tape then take away it from

    the M/B from the joint.

    10. Remove 2 screws (M2.5*8L) to separate LCD module and bottom case.

    11. Separate the LCD module and bottom case.

    Removing SW board & Led board 1. Disconnect the Touch pad FPC.

    2. Remove 4 screws (M2*2.3L) and take away Touch pad bracket.

    3. Take away Touch pad module on top case.

    4. Remove 1 screw (M2.3L) and take away the Led board on right-up side

    of Top case and disconnect a Led board cable.

    5. Remove 2 screws (M2.3L) Install the SW board on left-up side of Top

    case and disconnect a SW board cable.

    LCD Module The illustrations below show how to remove and disassemble the LCD module. The module contains LCD panel, inverter board, LCD hinge bracket, hinge cover, LCD front cover, and LCD back cover. Please do not disassemble the individual parts. Disassembling LCD Module 1. Remove 2 mylars and 6 rubbers on LCD module.

    2. Remove upside 4 screws (M2.5*4L) and underneath 4 screws (M2.5*6L).

    3. Remove 2 screws (M2.5*6L) on the both side and remove LCD front cover.

    4. Arrange the coaxial and Inverter cable here .

    5. Remove 1 tape and disconnect LCD cable.

    6. Remove upside 2 screws (M2.5*3L) and underneath 2 screws (M2.5*6L)

    then take away the LCD panel .

    7. Remove 2 yellow tapes and 1 screw (M2*3L) and disconnect Inverter cable then take away the Inverter board.

    8. Remove 2 tapes and disconnect the coaxial cable then take away the

    coaxial cable.

    9. Remove 4 screws (M2*3L) on both LCD side.

    Bottom Case Module The illustrations below show how to disassemble and remove the bottom case module of the notebook. The module contains the bottom case itself, speaker sets and Motherboard. Removing Motherboard 1. Disconnect Audio FPC on M/B and Audio Board to follow below pictures.

    2. Remove 1 tape on Audio board and disconnect 4P cable on USB board & MB.

    Removing USB board 3. First, put the USB Board into the bottom case and put in by 60 degrees then

    secure 1 screw (M2*3L).

    Removing Audio board 4. First, put the Audio Board into the bottom case and put in by 60 degrees

    then secure 1 screw (M2*3L).

    Motherboard Module Removing Modem Module 1. Remove 3 screws M2*3L from the MB.

    2. Take the MB away from the bottom case by 30 degrees.

    3. Remove the So-DIMM memory module from the motherboard.

    4. Disconnect the Modem card connector and remove the it .

    5. Turn over the NB then remove 2 screws (M2 * 4L) and disconnect the Fan

    cable.

    6. Take away the Fan Module.
