Welcome to Term 2 at Hastings Community Hub

The Hastings Hub

Beautification Project.

The good weather has allowed us to complete a range of outdoor projects around the grounds of the Hub, including the clean up of vegetation along the driveway. It was a hard work but we are getting there.

The team have relocated a seat from the wrong side of our new fence, around the back of the building, to the right side and built some additional garden furniture. We had to think and problem solve a bit, but the results were worth the headache. After all that, it was satisfying to do some light gardening including; pruning, transplanting and mulching. We also created an area for composting of garden waste. Over the next couple of months we will be creating more, quiet areas around the perimeter, a new pathway near the Men’s Shed and continuing general gardening and planting around the grounds.

The upgrade of the Mural at the front of the building is looking great and will progress further over the next few months We are looking forward to seeing the final results from Mari, the Advance College VCAL students and community volunteers. If you would like to volunteer your creative/painting skills please contact us at the Hub.
