ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT 2018-2019
Barry RassinRotary Club of East NassauNew Providence, Bahamas
Barry Rassin earned an MBA in health and hospital administration from the University of Florida, and is the first fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives in the
Bahamas. He recently retired after 37 years as president of Doctors Hospital Health System and continues as an adviser. He is a lifetime member of the American Hospital Association and has served on several boards, including the Quality Council of the Bahamas, Health Education Council, and Employer’s Confederation.
A Rotarian since 1980, Rassin has served Rotary as director and is vice chair of The Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees. He was an RI training leader and the aide to 2015-16 RI President K.R. Ravindran.
Rassin received Rotary's highest honor, the Service Above Self Award, as well as other humanitarian awards for his work leading Rotary’s relief efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake there. He and his wife, Esther, are Major Donors and Benefactors of The Rotary Foundation.

Margaret has been an active member of Rotary for 24 years, serving in whatever capacity the club needed when she was a member of the Rotary Clubs of Rochester, Michigan; Rotary Club of Corvallis Morning, Oregon; Rotary Club of Euroa, Victoria, Australia; and Rotary Club of Jesup.She was Jesup Club President 2012-13,
Assistant Governor 2013-2016, Euroa Foundation Chair, President of Corvallis Morning Club, Rochester Community Foundation Member.As host to GSE team members from Japan, Bangladesh, and India Margaret has formed life long friendships. She has attended 9 international conventions two of them with her parents , Les and Alice Marks, Les a 36 year Rotarian, and both were Paul Harris Fellows. During the Corvallis Morning presidency the club sponsored a Rotary Exchange Student as well as an Ambassadorial Scholar.A graduate of Oregon State University with an MBA from Portland State University, she has worked in the Food Industry, Banking, Pulp and Paper Manufacturing; Chemical Industry, Fleet Management, and sold Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil to Trader Joe's while living in Australia. With her global travels for work she was able to recruit Rotary members and do make- ups all over the world for perfect attendance.She is past Chair of the Hospice of So. Georgia, Wayne Family Connections, Wayne Literacy and currently serving United Methodist Women as President, and a member of Coastal Wildscapes Conservation; and continues as a trained tutor to assist people to get their GED’s. She loves travel, tennis and time with friends. Margaret has two children, Samantha Jacobs Tyre and Adam Jacobs. Samantha is married to Josh and they have four children: Aaron, Addison, Cohen, and Cason. Samantha has her law practice in Jesup. Adam has a Masters in special education was in New York City as a teacher and Dean for10 yrs. He also designs furniture and is now living on St. Simons Island and doing Real Estate remodeling and management. Both Samantha and Adam are Paul Harris Fellows.

Steve BarnesRotary Club of Valdosta
Steve has lived all over the World to include 4 years in Japan and 4 years in Germany where he attended High School. He was active in Boy Scouts, a member of Civil Air Patrol and the International Order of DeMolay where he served as Master Councilor of Eifel Chapter in Germany. Steve received a Scholarship for Art/Design.
After enlisting in the Air Force he graduated from a joint military Engineering School in Virginia and served active duty.
Steve joined Rotary in 1998 as a Charter Member of Valdosta Sunrise and is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Valdosta. He has served 3 different terms as a Club President, serving as Assistant Governor from 2014-2019. He is active on many Club and District committees and is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Will Watt Fellow. Steve was the first AG in the District to have all his Clubs recognized as 100% Paul Harris Fellow Clubs and is working with the Nashville-Berrien Rotary Club starting a new Rotary Club.
Steve's civic, business and professional organizations includes Leadership Lowndes Board of Trustees, Moody Air Force Base Chief's Group, American Red Cross Board of Directors, Metro Planning Organization (CAC), Habitat for Humanity, Jimmy Carter Work Project, Critical Incident Team Leader at Moody AFB, Community Partners in Education, Valdosta Sesquicentennial Planning Committee, VRC Imagination Library Committee, Military Affairs Committee, Moody AFB RAO Executive Committee, Charter Class Member of City Government 101 Program, and Red Carpet of South Georgia Board of Directors to name a few.
After serving active duty in the Air Force Steve pursued a career in Art/Design and worked his way up to eventually becoming CEO of an Advertising Agency/Design Firm. His award winning work has included all aspects of print and broadcast advertising and book illustration. In 1987 Steve got married and closed his agency and moved to Moody Air Force Base working for the Department of Defense as a Civilian. His primary focus was morale for Airmen and families and he worked as a Liaison between the base and community in coordination with the Judge Advocate General to assure compliance with Department of Defense Guidance. He has served through numerous Mission Changes under Air Force Special Operations Command and Air Combat Command.
Steve's Wife passed away while serving active duty in the Air Force assigned to the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing. Their son Stevie is training to become an Air Force Pararescueman and daughter Katelynn is a Senior at Highland Christian Academy and has been attending her Dad's Rotary meetings since she was born.
