Semester 1, 1st grade Semester 2) will shown, click on“一上”， which will lead to the lessons that our first graders will learn. For 2nd grade, click on “二年级”。

Full Screen View Menu pull-down is trick, pull-down and click before the “一上,一下”disappears. May take several tries.

3. Navigate Lessons, the number indicates the lesson in the

textbook: a. click on “①上学校”（Lesson 1, Go to School）

b. Click on “课文”（text）to get in the same lesson in the Textbook.

c. Click on “听听唱唱” (listening and singing), the lesson will be sang with the music.

d. Click on “我爱阅读” (I love to read) will display the enrichment reading material

Important note: In general for most lessons you may access the first three items, “text”,

“listen and sing” and “I love to read”. The item 4 and 5, even highlighted, can only be accessed by teachers in Singapore, and you will get this screen below, you may click on “继

续”（continue ）to get back.

In some lessons, you may be able to access the item 6 “游戏/活动” (Game and Activities) when it is highlighted. It is very interesting to play when it is available. Children will learn the instructions of how to play in their class.

e. The lesson begins. There are several function buttons for reviewing the lessons: Click on play button, the entire lesson will be read from beginning to the end without stop at each page. Click on the title, the text will be displayed for reading and writing individual characters.

d. Click on the title to open the lesson, or if more than one

page are in one lesson, it will show a number button for each page, then just click on the number button to open that page. Important: When the text opens, use mouse pointing on each character while reading it. When a character is required to be recognized and read, it will be highlighted in blue.

e. Clicking the blue character will open a scroll; it shows this

character in a large size, click on the audio button will get the sound of this character.

f. When a character highlighted in purple, it indicates that this character needs to be read and written by the students.

g. Clicking on the character in purple will open a scroll with a large size character. Three functions can be used for this character: learn the order of strokes, practice the strokes in order, and listen the sound of the character.

h. Click on “学一学”(learn how to write), the strokes will start automatically in order and the audio will start to name each stroke.

i. Click on “练一练”, (practice writing with the moving pencil), the correct order will be needed to continue the practice. You need to place the mouse on the appropriate location to start each stroke, other wise, you will be warned and not be able to continue.

Please let your child try it at home everyday, and you will see how capable they can use it and the progress they will make.

If there is any problem, please ask the teachers. They also will use this website in the class, so the students will be familiar with this tool. This tool will also be used for higher grades such as grade 2, 3, 4… By then, you will be very skillful in playing it. Together, we’ll make XinXing a wonderful place of learning Chinese.
