Diploma of Purchasing BSB51507
Aim of the Program
The aim of the Diploma of Purchasing program is for individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base in purchasing and demonstrate a range of managerial skills to ensure that purchasing activities are effectively conducted in an organisation or business area. Typically participants would have responsibility for the work of other staff. Participants can in any industry or organisational setting and may have whole of procurement life cycle responsibilities or work in specific functions such as contract management or tendering. Successful completion of the program results in the award of the nationally recognised qualification from the Public Services Training Package 2004.
Target Audience
Any person in the public sector agency or government owned corporation who’s job roles may include, Contract Manager, Inventory and Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Consultant, Purchasing Coordinator, Purchasing Manager, Site and Purchasing Coordinator.
Program Overview
This program allows for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to vary programs to meet specific needs of a business or group of businesses; skill needs of a locality or a particular industry application of business skills and maximum employability of a group of students or an individual.

There are 8 Units in the program (5 Required + 3 Elective). Required Units

BSBRSK501A Manage risk
At least 2 of the elective units must be selected from the elective units listed below. The other 1 elective unit may be selected from the remaining elective units listed below, the BSB07 Business Services Training Package or any other currently endorsed national Training Package. If not listed below, 1 unit may be selected from either a Certificate IV or Advanced Diploma qualification.
Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and the qualification.
Units selected from other Training Packages must not duplicate units selected from or available within the BSB07 Business Services Training Package.
