Experiment 1

Diode as OR Gate

Page 3: Diode as or gate

An or gate gives 1(battery supply) output, if any of the input is 1(battery supply). It gives 0

output only when both the input is 0.

Step No.2

Connect two 9V Battery on the breadboard

Page 7: Diode as or gate

Step No.3

Connect two resistor of value between 330 to 1000 ohm on the Breadboard

Page 8: Diode as or gate

Step No.4

Connect a LED between the two resistors on the breadboard

Page 9: Diode as or gate

Step No.5

Connect 2 diodes in forward biased(p to n) on the bread board as shown

Page 10: Diode as or gate

Step No.6

Connect the negative terminal of batteries to common ground and positive on two separate points on the bread board.

Step No.7

Connect positive terminal of the battery to the p terminal of one diode. The LED glows.

Step No.8

Connect positive terminal of the battery to the p terminal of the other diode. The led glows

Page 13: Diode as or gate

Step No.9

Connect both the batteries. The LED still glows.
