FRESH EYES TEAM VISITS!

SPECIAL DIET CONFERENCE

YORK HILL CAFÉ SUPPORTS THE HOCKEY TEAM!

Tell What You Think! Campus Dining Services and Quinnipiac University conducted a preference survey (3081 participants), held 13 student focus groups and reviewed the entire dining program to understand our guest needs which will help shape the future of Quinnipiac’s dining program. The Fresh Eyes process also included a review of the current dining program by Chartwells operations, culinary and marketing professionals in tune with dining and food trends. Based on the results short and long term plans will be developed to ensure the dining program is one created for the students, by the students. This process was received with great interest from the student body. The student television station, Q30 News, ran a piece on the Fresh Eyes process.

Special Diet Conference Campus Dining and the University held a meeting to develop a comprehensive plan on how to address students with special dietary needs. Laura Lapp, campus dining registered dietitian, presented the options available to dining services that were created to address the needs of these students. The group will meet again in March to complete the plan for Fall 2016.

Student Government Association and Campus Dining Campus Dining and SGA continued to meet and collaborate on improvements to the dining facilities. As a result of the meeting an additional bussing station was added to the 2nd floor of the Café Q dining room.

Ryan’s Cases for Smiles was created after a boy named Ryan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at the age of 12. Ryan underwent “five cancer recurrences, 30 months of chemotherapy, 15 surgeries, the amputation of his right leg, and over 150 days of physical therapy”. His family started this organization because a hospital stay can be very scary for anyone, let alone a child, so they wanted to provide comfort and support to these patients and their families. This organization works to help kids feel better while they are healing.
