Rosa Rawlings - BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology - Unit 3: A Digital Portfolio - Assignment 1: Design a Portfolio

Audience & Purpose The audience is for the manager of a local IT company called

Konnekted that recruits IT apprentices.

The purpose is to show off my work to the company from my own digital portfolio. Potential employers will want to see a range of my work, such as written documents and images. To show how well suited I be to one of the company’s jobs and to show that I have the required skills.

The purpose of when showing my skills and achievements, is to give the manager an insight to my creativity skills by making my digital portfolio looking professional, colorful, clear, having a clear layout with un-complexity to using my digital portfolio. Showing my knowledge and my own understanding from my assignments on the following categories shown in the Menu tab.

Designed to set my application apart from other people and creating my portfolio for an easier job application through my creativity skills, understanding of how the digital portfolio set up works, IT skills shown in my digital portfolio to how to create my portfolio and understanding of the following units in my digital portfolio.

As a purpose, hoping my portfolio will achieve to be shortlisted for a particular job, by including what attributes my portfolio will have. Attributes that would include to be easy to use, being attractive to the audience eye, including full essential information and details.

Software files to be attached to certain units that I may use, to give as evidence with my assignments to the company, to show more skills that comes along with the assignments.

course. There maybe issues inserting

the PDF files, that the file setup may not

work. My alternative solution to this, is to

Stated Purpose How these will meet the stated purpose is using each

consistent unit page layout in Menu tab, About Me tab and

the navigation chart to view what is available to view on my

portfolio. In the About Me page includes a image to indicate

which institute I’m studying at. To direct people more easily

to view all of the pages, rather than just having the unit

pages layouts on the Menu page. This is to meet the

purpose of showing a range of my work. Such as written

documents, images and possibly software programs.

Another purpose is including a travel and photographic

theme at the top of the menu page, with a style of text to

invite people’s attention to view the other pages, to show

creative skills on my portfolio. Inserting the blue, bold,

vertical layouts, across layouts and page titles to blend with

the white background to the theme of my portfolio.

The Needs Of The Audience

• The navigation chart fitting the audience’s needs to

navigate themselves across the portfolio, to achieve as a

purpose to be shortlisted for a particular job with my

attributes.

• Giving bullet points, to state out the basic information, so it

is more visible rather than it being placed in a long

paragraph, short paragraphs to keep the readers

motivated.

• Providing pictures to show the topics’ meaning. Including

useful information that people require to understand what

my portfolio is about, to fit the needs of the audience, by

showing my skills and achievements that comes along with

the assignments and to set my application apart from other

people.
