Sandia Naonal Laboratories (Sandia) is a mul-program laboratory managed and operated by Sandia Corporaon, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lockheed Marn Corporaon (LMC), for the U.S. Department of Energy's Naonal Nuclear Security Administraon under contract DE-AC04-94AL85000.

Sandia has several groups focused on the advancement of Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies:

1)1) Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems enable a new product paradigm in radar capabilies and modalies. With the ability to shrink sensor size, increase resoluon, raise image quality, and advance real–me on–board processing, Airborne ISR has been dedicated to producing the connuous cycle of next generaon systems. Airborne ISR specializes in the full system design of exquisite Synthec Aperture Radar (SAR), Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI), target recognion and other sensor systems for the DoDoD, other Government Agencies and industry partners.

2) Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) are focused on reducing the size and weight of RF components while increasing their power efficiency (SWaP).

To keep at the forefront of EW advancements, Sandia recognized the need to acquire the latest and most advanced oscilloscope.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSSandia required a digital oscilloscope that provided a minimum sampling rate of 60GSa/s, a bandwidth of 25GHz, and a minimum of 100Mpts memory per channel to enable them to test advanced radar applicaons.

READ: Some other OEM's oscilloscope touch screens use resistance touch screens

which are generally limited to one touch at a time, notoriously inaccurate, and

difficult to use. Around 2007, Cellphone OEMs introduced capacitive touch screens

to the market; Keysight has adopted this display platform for their oscilloscopes.

Capacitive touch screens are significantly more precise and have the ability to

register multiple touches simultaneously.

The number one goal of T&M instruments is to be able to identify, isolate, and

analyze a system as quickly and efficiently as possible. Having an effective touch

screen implementation on T&M instruments can reduce the time it takes to

configure those instruments and analyze a device's signals. It is safe to say that T&M

instruments have more buttons, knobs and menus than most other hardware in its

class. Oscilloscopes typically have over a dozen knobs and a few dozen buttons on
