DRAKEBACK COVER OF DIGI-PAK

The lack or imagery on the back cover allows more room for the track list and other details of the record company etc. The gold text on a black background makes the back cover seem unique and different. The colour gold signifies the wealth importance of the songs adding value to the overall album.

The dark colours also highlight how the music is about death, pain, love or even fear. These are all conventions of a CD album.

DIGI-PAKAlthough the above are not actual digi-paks and are just CD album covers of the front and back of a CD, they do provide some indication of what to include in my digi-pak. They help me to understand what needs to be included such as the barcode, track list, producers and musicians.

Below is an image of a digi-pak, with three panels. The images allows me to understand that I need to include enough material for the inside as well as outside of the digi-pak. I can include a leaflet, booklet containing information about my artist, tour dates and etc. I can include a photo shoot and other promotional material such as posters to lure the target audience in.

PROFESSOR GREENBACK COVER OF DIGI-PAK

This back cover conveys a long shot of the back of the artist walking away from the camera towards what looks like a photo shoot. The lack of colour in the mise-en-scene adds a clear and effortless look to the album. The vertical text minimises the amount of room taken for text and allows the model to take more room and the background image. The artificial light that has been included to make the image seem ‘dream-like’ and ‘angel-like’ adds to the intensity of the back cover allowing the audience to seem him as a new and upcoming music artist. As the light suggest the beginning of something new.
