1. Ambitious Climate Protection Goals?

Transformational Technologies Needed!

2. Clean & Efficient Energy Technology Solutions

By revolutionizing combustion of fossil fuels and bio fuels based on Jupiter’s unique high flame temperature oxy-fuel combustion process, heat transfer effectiveness is maximized and energy efficiency is significantly improved!

The impressive results are two fold:

(1) Significant energy efficiency gains and emission reductions in industrial furnaces for aluminum and steel production or waste incineration.

(2) A practical and affordable pathway to clean up major CO2emissions and key pollutants from existing and future fossil fuel or biomass fired power plants.

3. High Flame Temperature Oxy-Fuel Combustion

Jupiter Oxygen Technology Development

• High Flame temperature oxy-fuel

process

• Precision combustion & combustion

control

• Maximizing heat transfer efficiency

• Reduced fuel consumption

• Even heat distribution

• Exit gas volume reduction to one forth

• CO2 tenfold concentrated for efficient

carbon capture

4. Oxy-fuel Technology Implementation:

Results for Industrial Furnaces at Jupiter Oxygen’s Licensee

ALUMINUM RE-MELTING

Improved Energy Efficiency Leads to:

►►►► Fuel Savings

Natural gas fuel reduction < 74%

Oil fuel usage reduction < 69%

►►►► Linear CO2 Emission Reduction

from Fossil Fuel Savings

5. Technology Transfer Potential: Aluminum, Steel, Power Generation and Other Sectors

Steel application:

• India did produce over 50 million steel in 2007 [TATA Steel Report 2007-2008].

• An initial oxy-fuel retrofit of a 200,000 tons steel billet re-heating furnace will reduce approximately 15,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

• High-flame temperature oxy-fuel combustion applied to the steel sector in India could reduce up to 4,000,000 tons of CO2 per year.

• Other sectors with high potential for CO2 mitigation based on high flame temperature oxy-fuel combustion are fossil fuel power plants and the aluminum industry.

6. Jupiter Oxygen’s Commitment to Technology Transfer

Jupiter Oxygen is committed to innovative —energy efficient and environmentally responsible technologies — focusing on improvements for energy intensive businesses in India like:

– Aluminum Production

– Production of Steel

– Power Generation

Jupiter Oxygen established in 2008 the Jupiter-Encon Alliance in India. A cooperation with Encon Thermal Engineers for accelerated oxy-fuel technology implementation in the industrial furnace industry.

7. Extended International Carbon Markets & Environmental Funds

• Accelerated Technology Transfer and Up-scaling of CDM Projects needed

• Global Environment Facility for initial projects & technologies

• Carbon Partnership Facility (CPF) Incentives for sectoral approach, targeting specifically those energy intensive sectors, like aluminum, steel, cement, power generation

• Clean Technology Fund, including innovational approaches and specifically transformational technologies

• Direct funding for initial technology implementation

8. Practicable & Affordable Solution for CCS

• Oxy-fuel represents a cost effective approach for CO2 capture through concentrated CO2 in greatly reduced exit gas volume.

• Efficiency gains in boiler from high flame temperature oxy-fuel application ‘offset’ in part parasitic power losses that come along with oxygen production and CO2 capture.

• Our technology is a practical approach for retrofits, with CO2 capture and integrated removal of key pollutants like NOx, SOx, PM and mercury.

• Our retrofit approach for the existing fossil fuel power plant fleet is applicable worldwide and can be very beneficial for long run health care cost reduction.
