DID YOU KNOW?By Jerry and Ishu

March:20 2003

Operation Iraqi Freedom Began

26 days later:

Invasion of Afghanistan begins.

It began on September 11

APRIL 9, 2003: Saddam Hussein Statue Toppled in Iraq

MAY 1, 2003: Bush said : Mission Accomplished

Dec. 6, 2002: The Taliban surrender their last stronghold of Kandahar

Afghanistan

But 9 years later,

We are still there.

With….

36

different countries

involved in Afghanistan.

We have more than :

Occupying Afghanistan

27 690 International Troops + 78 400 U.S troops

We Used

71,700 Private Security Contractors

Only 3000 are armed.

We have help from:

163,146 Afghan Army &

Police

To kill an estimated:

In 2006

In

2010 x 3

30,000 Taliban

Currently we have spent more than

$784 billion on Iraq War

$321 billion on Afghanistan

$28.7 billion Enhanced Security

$18.4 billion on Iraq Relief and Reconstruction Fund

And $6 billion that we can not allocate.

The estimated cost of the war in Iraq:

$60 billion

In 2003

3 trillion dollars

$3 000 000 000 000

Eventual predicted cost of the war today is ( all countries)

Iraq + Afghanistan

And it takes

300 billion to lift 1 billion out of extreme

poverty

80-600 billion to send people to Mars.

64 billion to eradicate Aids worldwide.

(Equal to 32 days of the war)

But sometimes joining a war is necessary. Even at the cost.

But Current wars still the

second most

expensive.

2008 figures

But lives are more important than money right?

2009 figures

The world lost: Can: 125 UK: 227 US: 658

But compared to % of troops

Canada takes it the hardest at 5.1%

UK: 3.6 %

US: 2.5%

Number one killer:

Is rising.

Withdraw our troops?

While we Were There.

Vaccination has increased.

Infrastructure has been developed at a furious rate.

And the dictatorship was destroyed.

In 2001, there were virtually no cell phones in Afghanistan.

Today, there are more than 8 million cell phone users across Afghanistan.
