Diamond M Cattle Co. started by Mark Mueller with the help of his father running an assortment of commercial cows, selling a few club calves

while still in college at Kansas State. While at K-State, the always charming Mark Mueller met his lovely wife Lori, they were married in 1985 and started a family soon after with son, Matt and twin daughters,

Ashley and Lindsey. All of which attended and graduated from the same school where their parents met. All the kids have been, and still are active in the farms cattle operation.

Diamond M’s first sale, The Showcase was with long time friends, Greg Fisher Cattle, Pelton Ranch, and Garten’s. All of who are still well known and well respected cattle operations still today.

DMCC is best known for breeding some of the greats in the Maine Anjou breed and truly helping many other breeders improve their programs with cattle that wore the DMCC prefix. One would not argue the impact Jirl Buck has had on the Maine Anjou breed. Several record setting sales and several major show champions the last several years with almost cattle exclusively sired by sons of DMCC Limited Edition, in BK Unlimited Power and BK Remedy. Hartman Cattle and Nowatzke Cattle the last 8 years or so have taken most of hardware out of Denver with SLC Sooner sired cattle and then with a Sooner son, Wisdom. Sooner was also a DMCC Limited Edition. To go one-step further, Bushy Park Farms have had tremendous success with Sooner also but even more with Boomer, siring the $120,000 breed top seller BPF EVA… Again DMCC Limited Edition sires Boomer... See a pattern emerging?

We could continue this trip down memory lane with other great sires bred by DMCC like the ABS sire Mercedes or Lifeline or Lamborghini, who continues to show up regularly in the pedigree of some great cattle today or we could focus on what the future holds. Mark and his family hold tight to their roots in the Maine Anjou breed and still enjoy breeding the occasional club calf like the Reserve Champion steer at this years Missouri State Fair placed by Wade Rodgers and showed by the Brent Murphy family.

Cattle that stand the test of time are at the heart of the DMCC program! DMCC has always had Simmental cattle and over the last few years have really continued to focus and build on that breed with some of the best cows they could acquire.

Matt is taking a larger role in the cattle breeding operation and has the enthusiasm and work ethic with his father’s help guidance to take DMCC to the next level. confidence and that’s where you do your business… The Mueller’s are just a great family and those kind of people!

Words cannot begin do justice to how honored and humbled I am to welcome you to the 1st DMCC production sale in a few years. Mark Mueller has truly been

an Influencer in every breed of cattle he has been associated with. I do not know when my friendship with “Cowboy” started but my admiration started some time in

the early 90’s being a school kid sneaking The Maine Anjou Voice in to class to read about the great programs of the breed.... Blueprint, K&A, Daines, Yoder, and Core.

At the time just about every progressive Maine program was going to DMCC to get a taste of their genetics,

In 1995 one of my good friends Doug Bowen, whose family had a small herd (Hillcrest Maine’s) like so many others had been going out to Hiawatha and buying a

heifer or two each year to build with. On a side note when you’re a kid in Ohio, Hiawatha might as well been the moon and I was always so envious of them for this trip.

I always would rush over the day after they got home to see what they had purchased

That November they brought home a beauty! Although she was a little skinny and perhaps just a tad long legged for some, she was far from a high seller and

was what their budget allowed for but she had a great look to her, DMCC PERFECT ANGEL... Doug and I took that heifer to every jackpot show in three states and we

got our butt kicked at everyone… Doug and I were relentless in our positivity in that female ...I think Doug’s dad thought we were idiots every weekend we would

load up and go just to get beat. Angel got bred up early for a middle of January calf and turned into something to see... She won the Maines at Indiana State Fair and

by November and the NAILE she was just about perfect... She was in a huge class with the who’s who of the breed in it, with Mark McClintock judging... The one guy

whose reputation was he liked them cowy and didn’t give a hoot who was on the halter. Rocking J, Jerry Adamson stopped me when she got on the green shavings

pulled me close and said they should have been playing rock n roll music when she came down the ramp... She won that day for fun... It was some years later that I

met. Mark and I have been friends every since.

DMCC Perfect Angel never reproduced herself with another great show heifer but after a few years in production at Hillcrest and then back in Hiawatha she left

several top daughters in production and now granddaughters. Fast forward this story and there is a female DMCC sells to Blind Badger a few years ago by Body Builder

and Perfect Angel who’s 2014 heifer calf sired by I80 sells to the Haden family of Indiana, who is selected as champion Maine at the 2015 Indiana State fair ...17 years later Perfect Angel’s granddaughter wins the same state fair.....

Some 25 years after studying the Voice and reading about the DMCC program I have a friendship with Mark but now my admiration of Mark is

just not about his cattle breeding acumen but for his family! What a great family the Mueller’s are. Mark and Lori have raised 3 outstanding children

that they couldn’t be more proud. They have two of the most wonderful daughters, if you’ve watched them at a show you will know there aren’t two

harder working young women at the show, lovely young ladies, confident, strong and so kind and respectful to everyone they meet.

In all the work leading up to putting this catalog together it’s easy to tell his right hand man and best friend, is his son Matt. I’m guessing when

your dad has bred the most influential sires in the industry that’s a big shadow to grow up in. In almost every phone call between Mark and I he has

mentioned how hard Matt has worked and how proud he is of him... And when something hasn’t gone so well he has also said how his son has taken it

to heart.

DMCC Celine is another example of how well 3C Macho can work in any herd.
