advanced data management software, the centralized

bidirectional network monitors treatment safely and reliably

from start to finish. Therapeutic regimens are logically integrated

Dialog+ Interactive functionality

The design of the Dialog+ hemodialysis machine brings sophisti-

cated medical technology into detailed balance. Its form follows

ergonomic function. All components on the front panel are

arranged in a practical way to facilitate user interaction and allow

the operator to adapt readily to changing therapeutic procedures.

Lightweight yet sturdy, agile yet on a solid footing, Dialog+ with

its swivel wheels offers the practical mobility needed for every-

day routine. The high-resolution, swivelable 15" TFT monitor isextremely user friendly, allowing the information to be easily

read from any position and in all lighting conditions.

The menu navigation is straightforward and takes the diversity of

has shown that keeping overhead costs low has never been more

important. Nowadays, everybody is seeking affordable solutions

that do not jeopardize the quality of care. Because Dialog+

hemodialysis systems are so efficient to operate, they amortize

themselves very quickly. Intelligent upgrade options ensure that

your purchase will be a secure and intelligent investment now

and in the future.

Slash operating costsUniting economy and ecology, Dialog+ can be programmed to

automatically activate the stand-by mode. This setting cuts back

on water, concentrate volume and electricity consumption. The

auto-priming function saves saline solution during online HDF

hemodiafiltration. Diacap Ultra dialysis fluid filters have an

above-average lifetime of up to 150 treatments or approx. 900

hours. That translates into significantly lower overhead costs.

All Dialog+ machines have an integrated technical service and

maintenance mode (TSM) for simplified troubleshooting and

documentation. That converts to lower service and maintenancecosts. The customized configurations possible with the TSM

mode additionally allow you to sustainably optimize the

processes at your center. All of these features add up to long-

achieved with the Dialog+ hemodialysis system's upgradeable

bidirectional interface to Nexadia data management software.

Its multidimensional communications concept also supports

optimal quality management. The machine can be preset using

Nexadia and the chip card. This saves time, which the staff

profits from daily.

B.Braun has designed Dialog+ and Nexadia to meet the broad

variety of challenges arising during everyday dialysis routine. The

modular design incorporates many advanced functional options

and an array of practical configurations. B.Braun also continues

to work on further evolving the Dialog+ concept to make each

Card reader for faster settings

The Dialog+ Therapy Card minimizes the manual entry of patient

data. Dialog+ quickly scans the personalized settings with the Card

Reader and automatically sets all treatment parameters. Centers

that choose to utilize the advanced Nexadia data management

system with all its potential options can alternatively download

data with a Nexadia chip card.

Programmable disinfection with automaticdocumentation

For disinfection, Dialog+ is equipped with two unique, mutually

supportive functions. One, the weekly disinfection routine, can be

used to program and store two disinfection cycles per day. The

other, a comprehensive disinfection history, ensures quality

management without added outlay for documentation.

Technical updates made simple and effective

Upgrading Dialog+

software is easy with aUSB stick andmemorycard. The USB stick can also be used for storing and analyzing

equipment data and the trends of previous treatments. Trouble-

shooting has also been simplified. With the integrated technical

service and maintenance mode (TSM), the profiles on all variables

and settings of previous treatments can be graphically displayed

and evaluated. Individualized combinations of settings can be

selected to ensure optimized handling and servicing.

Error-minimizing technology

Intuitively understandable: The Dialog+ touch screen is structured

around self-explanatory 3D icons. This is another positivedimension that gives users a greater sense of operating security

because they know they can react fast to all therapeutic events.

The learning curve for new staff is short, making it easy for them

to operate the machine confidently on their own.

The menu navigation on Dialog+ virtually eliminates errors

altogether: After important data is entered, the user just has to

confirm with the enter key to avoid errors. In all

operating phases, the online help functions support

the operator with plain language prompts and

instructions. These features make it easy for the healthcare staff

to react the instant an alarm sounds and undertake corrective

measures, with confidence and no hesitation.

The use of the Event Timer helps to remind the operator, for

example, to administer a specific drug or deliver a bolus of

heparin. The Event Timer ensures that nothing gets forgotten in

a busy working environment.

Option Nexadia BSL1

With the Nexadia BSL option, Dialog+ can be linked to the

innovative Nexadia data management system. This advanced

benchmark information technology supports users and makes

their routine work significantly easier. At the same time, this

option improves the quality of dialysis treatments, streamlines

workflows and documents all relevant data. All of which

converts to true savings against mounting cost pressures.

In combination with the Dialog+ hemodialysis machine, the use

of Nexadia sustainably improves therapy. The operator can use

the screen on the dialysis machine as an input terminal,

supplemental to an external workstation e.g. a Client PC.

Moreover, the bidirectional exchange of text messages, drug

instructions etc. is possible via the message exchange function.

The bioLogic RR Comfort2 option

This biofeedback system for automatic blood pressure stabilization

is globally unique. bioLogic RR Comfort directly measures the

patient's blood pressure and automatically and intelligently

regulates the UF rate according to the principle of fuzzy logic. 3

The innovative Guideline Technique is based on individual data

storage and markedly reduces the need for regular blood pressure

measurements. Clinical evidence has confirmed that the use ofbioLogic RR Comfort 4 leads to a significant reduction in hypo-

tension-related side effects. The result is enhanced treatment

comfort for patients and less stress for the nursing staff.

bioLogic RR Comfort requires virtually no adjustment effort.

All the settings required by the medical staff are limited to

setting the lower systolic blood pressure limit and the maximum

UF rate. Beyond this, the Dialog+ screen displays an understand-

able graphic at all times. The economical aspects of bioLogic

RR Comfort are similarly compelling. It can be used with just

one blood pressure cuff. That helps save on consequential costs.

The automatic blood pressure measurement or ABPM option

ensures dependable monitoring of your patients. Automatically,

accurately and non-invasively, Dialog+ measures blood pressure

using the oscillometric method. This takes a burden off the staff

and enhances safety for your patients.

Dialysis fluid filter option

The dialysis fluid filter option is used to significantly improve the

quality and purity of the dialysis fluid delivered by the dialysis

machine. In an additional filtration stage, the dialysis fluid is

pumped through the Diacap Ultra dialysis fluid filter to filter

and absorb any microbial impurities from the dialysate.

Obviously, treatment with ultrapure dialysis fluid has clinical

advantages. Chronic inflammatory processes triggered by

pyrogen impurities (cytokine-induced formation of interleukin,

TNF, 2-microglobulin amyloidosis etc.) are markedly reduced.This reduction is associated with a positive effect on the pati-

ent's general, nutritional and cardiovascular status.

The dialysis fluid filter option lets you significantly improve the

quality of the dialysis treatment. Consequently, you promote

patient's health and extend their life expectancy. At the same

time, you achieve a high savings potential by preventing against

likely complications and the consequential costs associated with

them.

Option HDF Online

With the Dialog+ Online version, you can carry out high-volume

hemodiafiltration with substitution solutions manufactured by

the dialysis machine online. The solution is made from the

dialysis fluid that is put through an additional 2-stage filtration

cycle run through two sequentially connected Diacap Ultra

dialysis fluid filters.

Combining diffusive and convective clearance improves the

elimination of small and medium-sized molecules. Likewise, HDF

Online is also suitable for patients with unstable cardiovascular

status who tend to experience a strong drop in blood pressure

even at low ultrafiltration volumes.
