BIOGRAPHY
Fredrick Hagemeister, MD Professor of Medicine Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Houston, TX
Fredrick Hagemeister, MD, is currently Professor of Medicine in the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Hagemeister received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed residencies and internships at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA and The University of MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston, TX. Dr. Hagemeister’s clinical research interests include the cure and reduction of complications of therapy for patients with Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s diseases, the development of novel drug combinations for therapy of untreated and relapsed aggressive lymphomas, and the integration of promising new treatments for indolent lymphomas in their management. He has participated in clinical trials designed to manage patients with Hodgkin’s disease and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas for more than 25 years, and believes that enrollment of patients onto treatment protocols is the very best way to help patients with these diseases. In addition, Dr. Hagemeister is a recipient of the Service to Mankind Award, as well as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Dr. John J. Kenny Award. He has authored or co-authored over 200 journal articles and book chapters.
