PART 2 COURSE OPTIONS & PURCHASING

Code: ELCAT1 for Classroom Exam Code: ELCAT1E for Online Invigilated Exam Shippers and persons undertaking the responsibilities of shippers, including operators' staff acting as shippers or preparing dangerous goods as Company Materials (COMAT).

Category 6 (Operators)Code: ELCAT6 for Classroom Exam Code: ELCAT6E for Online Invigilated Exam Operators' and ground handling agents' staff accepting dangerous goods.

Safe Transport of Lithium Batteries by AirCode: ELLB1 for Classroom Exam Code: ELLB1E for Online Invigilated Exam Shippers' course covering the specific requirements of Lithium Batteries.

Section II Lithium Batteries “Adequate Instruction”

Code: ELLB2 – this course does not require an exam This course is for those involved in the transport of Section II lithium batteries by air. Section II applies to batteries and cells usually found in mobile phones, laptops, watches, key fobs, promotional products etc.

These are the first online Dangerous Goods courses to be accredited by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)!

PART 3 ABOUT THE COURSES

Your Course Once you have logged in, please check that you have the correct course for your role.

Course Content There is a comprehensive workbook to print off and use throughout the course. The course is laid out in a modular format with tests at the end of each module. You should score at least 80% on each of the exercises before you move on to the next module. There is no limit on the number of times you that you can work through the modules.

We suggest that you also make your own notes in addition to those in the workbook; these can be used in the examination.

How long will it take to complete the Course? The amount of time taken to complete the course will depend on a number of factors, including your experience and speed of working. However, as a rough guide our Category 1 and 6 courses may take between 25 and 40 hours for someone with experience.

The Lithium Battery course may take around 15-20 hours for someone with experience.

We recommend that you work on the training little and often, perhaps 1- 2 hours per day. You can retake the modules as many times as you like to ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of what is required.

Normally access is limited to 12 weeks. However, this has temporarily been extended to 24 weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

PART 4 THE EXAMINATION

The CAA Exam The exams are regulated by the CAA and the time permitted is three hours.

Online ExamThe UK CAA has accredited the unique online examination process that has been devised to accompany the Category 1 Category 6 and Lithium Battery Courses. On completion of the course, candidates will make arrangements for the online invigilation.

Candidates can use the online versions of the DGR during their courses, however a hard copy will be required for the exam. The IATA DGR can be loaned for the day of the exam.

• A current edition of the IATA DGR = the exam is “open book”.• Photo ID, either a driving licence or passport.• We will provide you with a calculator and pen.

Papers will be marked within 10 days of taking the examination. Candidates who successfully achieve a grade of 80% or more will be issued with a certificate approved by the UK CAA will be awarded. Electronic feedback will be given to all candidates showing areas of development and strength.

You can book your exam at one of these venues once you have successfully passed the course. Terms and Conditions for Candidates The courses, the examination, the exam invigilation and the rental of books are managed by Dangerous Goods Online Training Ltd. (DGOT). DGOT is solely responsible for the content of the course materials. Labeline International Ltd. is the Authorised Reseller of the DGOT courses. All candidates will be required to have access to the IATA DGR throughout the course and in the examination. Examinations will be reserved, confirmed and acknowledged by email. If a candidate does not attend their appointed examination or cancels their attendance within 5 days of the examination date, they will be subject to a late cancellation fee of £40 + VAT. This will be payable to DGOT. All candidates agree to undertake the computer based dangerous goods by air training courses without assistance. However, specific support and guidance can be requested via [email protected]
