Daniel’s most recent operatic roles have been as Papageno Die Zauberflöte, Zoroastre Orlando. Schaunard La Boheme, Rocheford Anna Bolena, Angelotti Tosca and Ein Mann/Ephramite Moses und Aaron for Welsh National Opera, Schaunard and Flemish Deputy Don Carlo at the Royal Opera House, Pastore/Spirito Orfeo for the Opéra National de Lorraine and in concert with Les Talens Lyriques (cond. Christophe Rousset) and Escamillo Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall. Daniel was a member of the Royal Opera House's Jette Parker Young Artist Programme from 2010 to 2012. His roles in the 2011/12 season at the Royal Opera House included Wagner Faust, Hunter Rusalka, Marquis d’Obigny La Traviata, Pinellino Gianni Schicchi and Soldier/Mercure Les Troyens and cover Guglielmo Cosi fan Tutte, Schaunard and Simon Miss Fortune. His roles in the 2010/11 season at the Royal Opera House were Enrico L'isola disabitata, Fiorello Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Commissioner Madama Butterfly, Papageno (cover) Die Zauberflöte and Wolfram (cover and performance) Tannhäuser. Other than his Royal Opera House commitments, during this time Daniel sang Schaunard La Boheme in concert with the RTE Symphony Orchestra and an opera gala for the CBSO. Before entering the programme Daniel also sang Flemish Deputy Don Carlo (cond. Antonio Pappano and dir. Nicholas Hytner) and Leone (cover) Tamerlano (dir. Graham Vick) at the Royal Opera House. His other operatic roles have included Papageno for English Touring Opera and the Armonico Consort (for whom he also sang Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro), Bogdanowitsch The Merry Widow and Frank (cover) Die Fledermaus for Scottish Opera, Yamadori (cover) Madam Butterfly for English National Opera, Nick Shadow The Rake's Progress for Opera East/Iford Arts and at the Aldeburgh Festival (with the Philharmonia Orchestra, cond. Martyn Brabbins), Prince de Bouillon Adriana Lecouvreur, Medico, Sicario and Servo in Verdi’s Macbeth and Leuthold Guillaume Tell for Chelsea Opera Group, Gottfried Die Rheinnixen for New Sussex Opera, Dulcamara in L’Elisir D’Amore by Donizetti for Opera Della Luna and Iford Arts and Aeolus/Grimbald in Purcell's King Arthur at the Snape Proms. Also well suited to mainstream oratorio, Daniel’s experience includes Bach’s Lutheran Masses with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment conducted by Gustav Leonhardt, as well as The Priest and The Angel of the Agony in Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius for The Cambridge Philharmonic Society conducted by Timothy Redmond and The Oxford Harmonic Society. Daniel’s future projects include Idraote/Astarotte Armida for Opéra National de Montpellier.
