The building provided a unique challenge containing over two million square feet of leasable space. With three floors of open gallery area including a glass atrium roof the installation required specialist expertise to deliver the retrofit project. The project replaced existing 2,000 150w Metal Halides with 2,000 28w LEDs doubling light levels and providing a 10 year maintenance free solution. The LEDs provide 400 lux at floor level from height of 23 meters saving the customer nearly £60,000 in energy cost per year. This gives DFC an annualized (over 5yrs) profit uplift of £145,080. Also the project has delivered 200 tonnes of carbon saving per year. Since completing this project, DFC has won awards Retail Lighting Project of the Year and Gold Award for Private Companies’ Energy Efficiency Awards.
