Upcoming Businesses Like Chick‐fil‐A Keep Staff Busy
The Building Inspections Division continues to see daily and monthly record numbers of permits and inspections. During April, the average number of daily inspections increased by 32%; the total number of single family inspections increased by 43%; and the total number of commercial inspections increased by 83% compared to April, 2017. Chick‐fil‐A is one example of a new business that started construction during the month of April located in the Gates of Prosper on Preston Road.

1450 Cedar Ridge Drive: Upon re‐inspec on, the gate of the fence is dilapidated, and several items are being stored in the back yard, including a freezer, appliances, wood, and a sink under a tarp. Staff contacted the owner to request replacement of the gate and to remove the stored items from the backyard. The interior demoli on appears to be complete, but there is no visible progress on the next step of interior repairs. The owner no fied staff that the gate will be fixed by May 7, 2018 and the storage removed by May 14, 2018.
A resident who received a courtesy no ce for keeping a Pot Belly Pig on her property, asked staff to consider changing the code in order to permit the animal. Currently, the Town’s Animal Control Ordinance prohibits swine, which includes Pot Belly Pigs. Town staff contacted surrounding survey ci es to determine their regula ons pertaining to Pot Belly Pigs in residen al areas, and the majority do not permit them.
