Objectives of the projects

• To enhance teachers’ understanding of

the role of language in learning

• To arouse teachers’ awareness of the

necessity of teaching their subject

Language and Literacy

School decides, although one workshop every other week is the suggested schedule

54 hours

3 hours per module for a total of 27 hours

9 workshops @ 3 hours per module for a total of 27 hours

Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms

School decides, although one workshop every other week is the suggested schedule

50 hours

2-3 hours per module for a total of 25 hours

9 workshops @ 2-3 hours per module for a total of 25 hoursWorkshops

5/6-day intensive tutor-training course

Support provided by the Project Team

• Pre-course visit• Workshop visits• Co-planning• Sharing sessions for tutors• Dissemination of good workshop-practice

• Submission of action plan• Sharing sessions of good classroom-practice

• Any teacher using EMIEMI, whether in EMI or CMI schools
