Stuck in City Traffic Jam?
Sounds familiar?
Searching for empty parking spot?
Couldn’t find public transport in time?
Supporting Smart Cities Initiative
The system was deployed along Persiaran Multimedia, Cyberjaya, a stretch of about 3.5km consist of eight (8) intersection of traffic light.
It able to save 65% reduction of travel time from 32 mins to 11 mins.
Smart Traffic Light
Client – Cyberview
ICC, the first ever in Malaysia, will serve as a centralised command centre for Internet of Things (IoT) operations of smart city services in Iskandar Puteri project owned by UEM
ICC provides 24/7 support throughout the year via Artificial Intelligence (AI) based proactive monitoring with services such as situational awareness, smart services analytics, emergency response as well as alarm management.
Integrated Command Center
Client – UEM Sunrise
How we do it Individual Controller –
Decide the timing based on current traffic condition.
Controller “talk” by sharing information with adjacent controllers
No central server to do traffic optimization – to avoid SPOF
Integrated to existing legacy traffic light controller
IoT using LTE – no fiber needed
Result It able to save 65% reduction of travel time from 32 mins to 11 mins.
Management Remotely monitored by STARS Monitor Traffic Condition Monitor Equipment
Condition Statistical Data Remote Management
Pain Point Long queue due to
inefficient traffic light signaling
Traffic light signal are set to manual timing
Lacks of connectivity infra along traffic light

With low latency, Quality of Service is more certain
Fiberizing mobile backhaul is key for mobile wireless operators in delivering high speed internet to the population
Can offer higher speed over fiber network (>1Gbps)

What is IoT
Key Characteristic
Few emerging Standard
Typical Usage
Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) intended for wireless battery operated Internet-of-Things in regional, national or global network.
Deep/Wide Coverage (up to 48KM per gateway)
Low Throughput Required (Less Than 50kbps)
Low Power Consumption (Battery life from 3 to 20 years)
Massive Number of Devices( 50K to 200K device/sensor per Gateway)
Secure encryption (end-to-end AES128 encryption)
Smart Light Smart Meter Smart Parking Geo-Location Smart Lock/Security
NB-IoT LoRa Weightless NB-Fi
Purpose-built trending Cloud DC
Network SLA of 99.999% Supports multiple Cloud platforms
and options (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) for business customers .
Modular data centre capabilities to provide speed and scale.
Certified and assessed by industry standard
Uptime Institute Tier 3,
TIA-942 Target Securities - ISO/IEC
27001, ISO/IEC 20000, PCI DSS, TVRA
Redundancy & Resiliency
Dual redundant sub-stations connecting to separate upstream power grid
Multiple diverse fibre paths to separate cable landing stations and telco PoPs
Data Centre supporting Smart Cities Initiatives
Building cost effective and reliable network
Smart CRAN HSBB Ring Design Cascading Splitter Design SDN/NFV
Resiliency Cost effective Cost effective
Centralized RAN architecture - Cost effective solution to improve mobile coverage and provide reliable access for End Users within the city
Provide fiber protection to ensure resiliency in the event of breakdown. The same fiber can be used to offer next-gen GPON such as XGS-PON & NGPON-2 which can offer aggregated speed of 52.5Gbps per customer in the future
Key design on building HSBB network that are the fastest and lowest cost in the world while providing speed up to 1Gbps per customer
By implementing SDN/NFV, operators can increase business agility and improve network visibility, performance and management control. It also can liminate vendor lock-in which will reduce Cost
