Rules and Regulation

The Rules and Regulations presented hereafter are in accordance with the current rules and regulations of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) as well as the resolutions approved by the Technical Committee MFI.

Qualifications of the Contestants A Contestant must be at least 17 years old, but not more than 35 years old. A Contestant must not be ranked in the Top 10 in any professional stadium in the world and must

not be a Champion in any professional sanctioning body. A contestant in the Junior Division must be at least 14 years old, but not more than 17 years old,

minimum weight 30kg. A contestant in the Sub-Junior Division must be at least 7 years old, but below 13 years of age.

Height and weight will be adjusted for this Division. Divisions of the Competition There are 14 divisions: Pin weight From 42 not over 45 Kg From 45 not over 48 kg

weight division. Participants State teams of all States in the country (India) are invited to participate at the championships. Each State is allowed to send only one State team to participate in the championships. Each team is allowed to send only one contestant for each weight category of each division (male,

female, junior, sub-junior) Team Delegates Each team should consist of 1 Team Manager 1 Coach 1 Referee 1 Doctor Contestants – number of allowed participants will be given to each State. Medical Check-up and Weigh-in







All contestants must have a Medical Check-up and Official Weigh-in on the opening day of the

Championships outlined in the technical handbook. Each contestant must then have a Medical Check-up and Weigh-in in the morning of their competition for each bout. Boxers Record Book must be presented at every Medical Check-up.

Changing Weight Divisions On the morning of the official Weigh-in, if a contestant finds his/her weight above the previous

declared weight, he/she is permitted to move up to a higher weight division. Drawing of Names The Draw will be carried out after the Medical Check-up and Weigh-in. During this, the team

manager or coach or a selected representative from each State must be present. Appearance of Contestant A contestant must wear shorts and a sleeveless shirt in red or blue, according to his corner. The

contestant must wear a Mongkhon (sacred headband) during the Wai Kru before the fight. An amulet may be worn around the upper arm or wrist but must be neatly covered. The contestant must wear the standard groin-guard, gum-shield, head-guard, bodyguard and ankle support. Toenails must be short.

Hand Wraps Contestants must use the wraps. Timing of Rounds The tournament will be run using 4 rounds of 2 minutes each with a 1-minute rest in between. The

same rules will apply for the Finals. Competition Conduct







All contestants must behave properly – as a good sportsman and follow the rules and regulations as

laid out. Contestants will be penalized for any violations. Ringside Doctor There shall always be a ringside doctor. One doctor will be appointed as Chairman. Appealing Decisions All appeals should be in accordance with the rules of the International Federation of Muaythai

Amateur (IFMA) for tournaments and competitions. Protests are allowed and shall be processed

according to IFMA procedure. Protests must be submitted in writing (in English) by a Team Manager, from where they will be immediately forwarded to the Secretary of the Jury of Appeal. A non-refundable deposit of Rs 2000 unless the protest is successful, must accompany each protest.

Awards and Prizes In each division, the winner of the Final bout will be the Champion and awarded with the Gold

medal. The other finalist will receive the Silver medal and 2 Bronze medals will be awarded to the 2 semi-finalists. The team with the highest points given will receive the IFMA India Cup Trophy. An outstanding contestant will receive an Honor Trophy. The contestant who performs the most beautiful Wai Kru will receive an Honor Trophy.

Venue and Date The Championships will be held at Villupuram, Tamil Nadu from the 25th of July to 28th of July 2013.

The Opening Ceremony will be held on the 25th of July 2013. The Closing Ceremony will be held on the 28th of July 2013. All teams should reach Villupuram on 24th July and depart on 29th July, 2013.

Fooding and Lodging All the participants will be provided accommodation and fooding from July 25 – 28, 2013 and

breakfast/lunch on July 29, 2013.







Referee and Judges Uniform Referee and Judges Uniforms will be 1. Black Long Pant, 2. Sky Blue Sleeve Shirt, 3. Black Shoe with

no heal and 4. Bow Tie. Unit Flags All Teams should bring their Unit Muaythai Flags. Passport Photographs Officials and all participants should submit along with Entry Forms with 4 color passport

photographs for 1. Accreditation Card (AD), 2. Membership Card (MC), 3. Entry Form (EF) and 4. IFMA-MFI Membership Form IMMF)

N.B.: AD, IFMA-MFI Membership Card (MC) will be issued to those who cleared necessary fees.
