    Dear IPSFers

You may notice that the WHA callwas released earlier this year, but this is for better overallorganization. We want to avoid expensive plane tickets, visa issues, or any kind of issues. If you havenot already, you can see the call by clickinghere.

Important things to notice are the change in procedures, this year we will have a form and a CV,instead of a motivation letter and CV. Also, everyone (even past ExCo) are required to apply withinthe deadline.

We have been getting many questions about the financial implications of the event. Well, apart fromvisa costs, tickets and travel insurance, which vary greatly, here are some tips. These are just someexperiences from the 2014 WHA delegation, but everyone has a different style in terms of what

    they eat, necessities, etc.

    1) We suggest everyone books at the Youth Hostel Geneva (you can check prices online for thedifferent room options). Last year we spent about 21 per night per person staying in France (justacross the border) but had to pay for our transportation to and from Geneva.

    2) Transportation. If you stay in Geneva, many hostel offer a free transport card. For those that do nothave this, last year we paid 38 CHF for week pass.

    3) Food. As mentioned, this will depend on the person so it is very hard to give an estimate. Last year, the caffeteria in the UN would sold sandwiches for 6 CHF, lunch for 8-15 CHF, coffee for 2 CHF andsnacks for 2-5 CHF. Since we were in France, we had dinner there for about 9-13 a pizza. The onetime we had dinner out in Switzerland it was about 25 CHF per person (in a nice place). Furthermore,

sometimes we were able to have free snacks during side events in WHA.

Please, keep in mind that prices vary per year and per person.

While the selection procedures for this year have been defined, if you like to make a suggestion fornext year or any suggestion at all, please contact me ([email protected])and Ana, our PublicHealth Advocacy Coordinator ([email protected]). The same goes for any questions you mayhave.

If you need some inspiration:WHA gave me the opportunity to see the bigger picture, to grasp the size of the global health topicsand to understand that there is still so much left to be done. I am proud to have been a part of theIPSF WHA 2014 delegation and to have taken part in the policy making process which finally

delivered its statements to the international community regarding important health topic in the name ofthe pharmaceutical students worldwide.- Ura JarcBlog post:WHA: An Amazing Experience

Hope to see many of your delegates applying!

    Best Regards
