Objective: SWBAT select and

checkout a grade- appropriate

e-book by using the Destiny e-

book database in order to read

and explore various genre.

Let’s go to Destiny via BCPS-One (We

have single log-in now.)

• After clicking on “See All.” you should end up

at this screen where you click on “Filter.”


• After clicking on “Filter,” you should see

“Availability,” and then you will see “Unlimited

• “Unlimited” in this part of “Destiny” refers to

the LMC having enough copies of a book for

everyone in the school---unlimited copies.

• How may of the “Unlimited” exist? The number

may change, as additional copies are added

through out the school year.


• Once in “Unlimited,” you will see a list of all

the books that are “Unlimited.”

• See the “blue infinity sign” notating there are

“Unlimited” copies of that particular book.

• In September there were 128 such e-books.

(More are added periodically)

• Please check out two (2) Unlimited e-books of

YOUR CHOICE. They should stay on your

device for about 3 weeks.


• Now let’s all check-out an e-book….

• Simply click on the “CHECKOUT” ICON next

to the e-book.

• Look for the “DUE DATE” to pop-up briefly at

the bottom of the screen. That is the date

when your e-book will automatically be

removed from your computer….and returned

to Destiny.

• E-Books may be returned at any time. They

may be checked out to your device at any time.

• After reading/closing the book, you can

return to it by simply clicking on the

“Destiny” icon in the upper left hand

corner menu.


• Once in Destiny, you may go to

“Checkouts” to find a book that you can

re-open and either read or return early.


• To find out all materials you have

checked out got to “My Info” tab.

• Items, due dates, and costs are

listed here.

• You can also click on the “Click

here to access your e-Book” to

read an item.
