This planner is designed to help you create a personally meaningful, practical,

and realistic seasonal wardrobe. As part of this gift, you’ll also be receiving The

Wardrobe Quick Start via email, with lots of tips for using this planner in your own

design process.

If you’d like to get started right away, here’s a brief guide to using this planner

to design sewing projects as a seasonal collection:

1. Set a goal for your collection. Think about why this goal is important to you,

so you can connect your goal with what you value (page 3).

2. Name your concept. Revisit any inspiration you’ve already collected and

define your concept with 2-3 words (page 4).

3. Define your life contexts. Decide what contexts in your life (such as work,

school, weekends, lounge, travel) you’d like to design for this season (page 5).

4. Create a mood board. Create a physical, analog mood board for your

collection (page 6).

5. Create a palette. Collect swatches together (from your stash as well as from

shops), then edit and organize them into color families (page 7).

6. List the criteria. For each of the life contexts you want to design for, list the

criteria your projects and outfits must meet (page 8).

7. Design looks. Browse for patterns and design ideas, and design looks for

the contexts (page 9).

8. Design each project. Plan out the individual projects for the season and

use them to create a sewing queue (page 15).

As a subscriber to the Seamwork newsletter, you’ll get The Wardrobe Quick Start

via email, to give you even more tips for using this planner. If you received this

PDF from a friend and want to get these tips, you can download your own copy

of the planner here and sign up for the series at the same time.
