Advisor on Air Quality IssuesPollution Probe

Angela works at Mobycon as a mobility consultant, specialised in sustainable mobility and behavioural change. She advises clients in the fields of cycling and electric bicycling, the use of public transport and traffic safety. Stimulating behavioural change through education, communication and organisation.

During her studies Angela already started to play an active role in cycle training for immigrant women in the city of Tilburg. From this period on the relation between mobility and the roles people play in family-life and society had her special attention. She has worked for several organisations in the field of informal education and empowerment. She developed innovative methods and course material that is currently being used nationally and internationally for cycle training and promotion.

Her experiences in initiating and leading (complex) projects, together with her substantive knowledge of mobility matters, has led to several relevant skills. Like the ability to structure and analyse, a well developed environmental awareness, the strong will to achieve cooperation between parties involved and to transform this into an efficient implementation of projects. Addressing mobility behaviour means working with people and that needs courage, empathy and passion.

Notes from Rae’s DeskInspiration comes to me from having the privilege of spending every day in the company of essential oils. Plant wisdom has guided me for 40 years in my personal and business life and I have been enriched beyond measure by its blessings. I personally evaluate and connect with every essential oil that arrives at Rae Dunphy Aromatics, and I listen carefully to hear the message in each one. Sometimes the song is loud, and sometimes very subtle. It is always joyful. I know that some of you purchase your essential oils based on price, growing method; organic or not, country of origin, fragrance preference. I also know that we cannot be all to everyone but I can assure you that we purchase as carefully and directly as we can and do our best to get the real story behind each oil. Price is not as important in our purchases as quality, growing method and relationship to the producer. We want you to experience results in your work with our essential oils and suggest that using the best always affects the outcome.

There is so much more information to share with you than we currently have listed on our website. We are limited by Health Canada by what we can say which I believe does a disservice to you as a therapist and ultimately the public. That being said, we are starting to post a few descriptions that are very brief but may inspire you to read further in published books and medical journals.

Continue to peek in our Discover section on the website for information about essential oils, products, or whatever inspires us. After a product leaves the Discover section, you will find longer articles in the Archive section, or on the individual essential oil or product page.

In the Spirit of Gratitude for you our dear customers I share this amazing video:

http://youtu.be/gXDMoiEkyuQ

Happy Spring!

New Skin Care LabellingWe are doing a redesign of the skin care labels. You have asked for more direction on grouping products by skin type with supportive information. We are happy to say that by mid April the Cleansers, Toners, Serums, Cremes and Oils will sport new and beautiful clothes.

What has proved to be challenging is deciding the top two skin types for each product to display on the labels. Many skin care lines are designed to ‘treat’ a skin type rather than balance the skin. Our botanically active products have such a broad range of application in different skin types that we were reticent to ‘pigeonhole’ a product into two types of skin. We realize for retail success, this needed to happen but please look deeper into our support literature for further discussion on other applications for some of the products.

Look also for some new professional pre-treatment soaks coming March as well.

Founded on demand, built through results and sustained by integrity. We are committed to promoting

best practices in risk mitigation and compliance assurance without compromising performance.

Diamond Integrity

Our goal is to facilitate operational excellence for licensed pipeline operators by providing them with straight-forward information and services, helping them achieve and maintain total regulatory compliance from the field to the file room. We ensure our clients produce at capacity while preventing serious incidents.

strength

Pipeline Operations and Maintenance Manual DevelopmentDiamond Integrity is actively involved with industry groups and regulatory bodies in order to maintain current knowledge of regulations and best practices, as they relate to the operation and maintenance of pipelines. We develop pipeline operations and maintenance manuals that address regulatory requirements while incorporating the business processes of our clients, the pipeline licensees.

Regulations and ReportingWorking as a liaison between industry and the ERCB, Diamond Integrity assists clients in maintaining compliance of pipeline activities governed by the Pipeline Acts and Regulations. To ensure pipelines are correctly identified, we routinely review licence information and recommend proper updating procedures for the ERCB’s records, should any discrepancies be found. If an amendment to a pipeline takes place, Diamond Integrity gathers the required information, completes the licence application and submits it directly to the ERCB for approval, in alignment with Directive 056. As well, our team participates in ongoing training in order to stay up to date with ERCB regulations and guidelines.

Compliance MonitoringA report card is conducted on a quarterly basis to inform management of the completion of the required tasks outlined in the O&M Manual. Through compliance monitoring, all documentation is readily available in a compliance cabinet should an ERCB audit be conducted. In accordance with CSA Z662 pipeline code, pipeline and operating maintenance manuals are developed and required tasks listed in the O&M Manual. This documentation is filed according to regulations. Our service also includes monthly cathodic rectifier readings, annual cathodic surveys, pipeline pigging summaries, compliance to corrosion chemical programs, right-of-way surveillance, pressure switch function testing and calibration, pipeline discontinuation/abandon procedures, ground disturbance documentation and crossing agreements.

Internal Pipeline Corrosion AssessmentsDiamond Integrity provides corrosion assessments for both facility and pipeline assets. The likelihood of corrosion, both internally and externally, is determined using operating conditions, operating history and previous inspection results. This information is combined with the consequence of failure and operating logistics to design a comprehensive corrosion mitigation plan. We also make recommendations for measuring the success of the mitigation plan through monitoring, inspections and periodic reviews.

Data CollectionDiamond Integrity manages facility data for industry clients. We research all facilities, interview personnel, collect accurate data from all available sources, and ensure data is complete prior to entering it into the Spectrel asset management system. We manage information reviews and updates on a regular basis. We incorporate a rigorous internal and client review process to ensure that information is current and that reporting also meets the unique needs of each client.

Project Management Diamond Integrity provides project management services to ensure the efficient execution of Integrity Management Programs. Our service includes full turn-key in-line inspection programs, pipeline discontinuances, abandonments, reactivations and other compliance-driven activities.

Failure InvestigationsDiamond Integrity conducts failure analysis on oil and gas pipelines and pressure vessels, as well as facility and downhole equipment. Mechanical testing, chemical analysis and visual inspection are all used to determine the root cause of a failure. We use these results to make recommendations for the prevention of future failures.

WHAT AND WHY?

The primary purpose of progress reviews is to provide the opportunity foremployees and managers to touch base on how the performance plan is movingforward. Are competencies being demonstrated? Are goals on track? Arenecessary recourses still available?

Along with ongoing discussions between the employee and manager, there are many otherreasons why progress reviews are important:

They provide managers and employees with a way to review performance so that performance and developmentdiscussions are fair and that it reflects the entire year of performance and not just a recent or singleimpressionable event.

There is a strong business case for progress reviews. Given the dynamic environment in which CMHC isoperating, shifts in business priorities or unforeseen challenges in meeting objectives may influence the relevancy orachievement of the objectives. Progress reviews creates the opportunity to review, and if applicable, modifyobjectives to allow employees to focus their energies in areas which matter most.bjectives to allow employees to focus their energies in areas which matter most.b

There is a strong people case for progress reviews. Employees want feedback and coaching and they want toknowowo their work matters and that they have the ongoing support from their managers to succeed.

NO SURPRISES!! When progress reviews are conducted effectively, the year end review is not such a timeconsuming experience but more of a brief discussion between employee and manager to wrap up the final fewmonths of the year.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EMPLOYEE’S ROLE: Track your performance on objectives and competencies. Try using the progress review form as a working

document. When you have achieved a key activity for an objective or have demonstrated a competency in aspecific situation, log this information into the form. That way, you are not scrambling at the end of year trying togather information to support your performance or development plan.

Solicit feedback from your manager, other manager’s and people as appropriate. For example colleagues or clients.

Communicate openly and regularly with your manager providing regular updates on how your objectives andcompetencies are progressing and seek direction if the information is not clear.

There is a growing demand for alternative and flexible sources of Mortgage financing, and this

trend is certain to grow as traditional Lenders concentrate more on fee-based activities, while

proceeding to tighten their lending criteria.

"Cedar Peaks Mortgage Services is quick to respond when circumstances required more than

conventional thinking in order to meet our client's needs and the requirement of it's Investors."

– Garry Bidniak, Mortgage Broker, Performance Mortgage and Financial Services Ltd.

Conversly, Investors are embracing the opportunity of including Mortgage Investments as part of

their portofolio. This inclusion of equity based Mortgages is allowing them to realize a higher

than average return secured by Real Property.

These investments are also RRSP eligible.

"Cedar Peaks Mortgage Services was recommended to me by my banking institution.

The rate of success I have experienced with my investments has more than lived up to my

expectations." – Helen G., Investor
