Jan’s parents, Phil and Char Carterstarted the business in 1979 while Janwas away at Long Beach State.After finishing college, Jan had afascinating life – a job with Amtrak,American Airlines and as aphotographer in Australia, all paving theway for her path to the desert, to helpher parents relocate their RanchoMirage store in Indian Wells. “Theyasked me to come for four months…20years ago!” She found herself loving thebusiness and stayed. She met her
husband, Gary, about the same time,had three sons, and the rest is history!Since then, Jan’s parents have passedon and she has evolved into the “mediadarling”, known as “The Gadget Gal”.She enthusiastically sells gadgets thatmake life easier in the kitchen.
