The Saw Tooth: 5 Parts

1. Depth Gauge: setting height & shape, determines chip thickness, .025

2. Working point: initiates cut, no chrome damage

3. Side plate: cuts the wood in the cross grain, 5 – 25 degrees forward

4. Top plate: determines kerf width, 20 – 30 degrees

5. Chisel angle: underside of top plate, allows chip to smoothly exit, 45 – 55 degrees

Consistency must be maintained around the loop and from left cutters

to right cutters
