artist profilesLINDSAY BLAND (Amelia Sedley) is a junior Theatre Education major here at UW-Whitewater. This is her second year being involved in

the theatre program, and was seen in last years production of Twelfth Night as Viola. She would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her dream career, and want's them all to know that without them she wouldn't be where she is today.

FAITH O'REILLY (Becky Sharp) is in her last semester at UW-Whitewater, she will be graduating in December with a degree in Communications

and a minor in Theatre. She is grateful to work on Vanity Fair as her last show, having been seen previously in: Addams Family (Grandmama), Resort 76 (Hupert), Triumph of Love (Corinne) and 1959 Pink Thunderbird (Elizabeth). Ms. O'Reilly is excited for the future and wishes all the best to her castmates in their future endeavours.

HEATHER WALLMAN (Manager, Miss Matilda Crawley, Lord Steyne) is a senior BFA Theatre Performance major

who will be pursuing Voiceover Acting in the immediate future, as well as continuing a passion in theatrics through writing and designing on the side.

JON LOTTI (Rawdon, Mr. Sedley, Fairgoer, Coachman, General Tufto, German Fairgoer) is senior BFA Theatre major with an emphasis

in Acting Performance. He was previously seen in DanceScapes '20, The Addams Family as Lurch, Twelfth Night as Orsino and Resort 76 as David Blaustain.

HARRY HEINRICH (Captain Dobbin, Miss Pinkerton, Rose Crawley, Gentleman, Servants) is a junior Theatre BA with a minor in music. This is his first major role

in a production at UW-Whitewater and wishes be involved with both tech and possibly acting in future productions.

KOY PEERENBOOM (George, Lesser Pitt, Miss Briggs, Lady Bareacres, Servant, Landord, German Fairgoer, Gentlemen) is a

senior General Management major with a minor in Arts Management.

STEVEN KORNKVEN (Understudy) is a senior BFA Theatre Performance major in his last semester in school. He was last seen on the

UW-Whitewater stage in Mary,Mary (Dirk) and in Devon's Hurt (Sam)

JAMIE LOVE (Understudy) is a senior this year, working on a Theatre BA and Creative Writing BA. Previously at UW-Whitewater,

you may have seen her in Twelfth Night as Feste and Blithe Spirit as Elvira. In the future, Jamie would like to pursue a Master’s in playwriting or creative writing. She is so proud of all the work everyone has put into this production, especially under the unique circumstances that COVID-19 has given us. She hopes you’ll enjoy the show and that everyone stays safe and healthy.

NATALIE MEIKLE (Understudy) is a sophmore BFA Theatre Performance major. Previous UW-Whitewater performances

include The Addams Family (Medival Ancestor), Twelfth Night (Understudy

Theatre Performance major in their last semester of school. Their previous UW-Whitewater credits include The Addams Family (Pugsley), Twelfth Night (Malvolio), and Resort 76 (Yablonka). Kory hopes to pursue acting and writing professionally after they graduate.

BRYCE GIAMMO (Understudy) is a freshman BFA Theater Performance major and this will be his first college production. Bryce

has been in six productions during his high school career and can't wait to be in more during his college career.

IVY STEEGE (Understudy) is a junior BFA Theatre Performance major. In the past she has been involved with other UW-Whitewater

shows such as The Addams Family (Renaissance Ancestor), Resort 76 (Ester), and Devon’s Hurt (Stephanie). After graduating, Steege would like to attend graduate school but is unsure as of where yet. She would like to thank you for viewing this show, and say welcome to Vanity Fair!

MEGAN WROBLEWSKI (Understudy) is a junior Theatre BA major with an emphasis in Performance, and she has a Film

Studies minor. This will be her first production as an actor/understudy, and she is excited to learn from this experience!

SARA J. GRIFFIN (Director) Vanity Fair is the second show Sara has directed at UW-Whitewater, her first being last season’s Twelfth Night. She

received her BFA in Performance here

at UW-Whitewater in 2007, before going on to get her MFA at the University of Delaware’s Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) in 2011. She is a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association, and has performed in over 35 professional productions at theaters such as Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Chicago Shakespeare, Northlight Theatre, Resident Ensemble Players and others. She is very grateful for her parents and all of their support over the years, her colleagues and students at Whitewater, and all of her teachers, whether they knew they were teaching her or not.

LYNN ROBERT BERG Language Coach) is a professional actor and member of the Actor's Equity Association. He has worked at a plethora of theaters, including the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theater, Chicago Shakespeare, and the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. He has been in over 100 productions over 20 years of acting. Favorite roles include Macbeth in Macbeth, Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, Caliban in The Tempest, Bill Walker in Major Barbara, and Dr. Watson in Hound of the Baskervilles .

MOIRA KOWALSKI (Stage Manager) is a sophmore pursuing a Theatre BFA with an Emphasis on Stage Management. Vanity Fair is Moira's first show as a Stage Manager. Her past credits as an Assistant Stage

SAMANTHA NESS (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman Theatre BFA major with an emphasis in Stage Management. This will be her first college show as an Assistant Stage Manager.

RUTH CONRAD-PROULX (Technical Director) Ruth has been a professional theatre manager and technician specializing in production management and technical direction in producing theatrical venues for the past 20 years. She has worked alongside professionals and students alike to meet the ever present challenges each production presents, finding learning experiences everywhere. At UW-W she oversees the stage management program, the scene shop, electrics, sounds and run crew labs in the Department.

ABBY SMITH-LEZAMA (Scenic & Lighting Designer) is a senior BFA Design/Technology major. Her work has been seen previously on the UW-Whitewater stage in Twelfth Night (Props Design), Resort 76 (Lighting Designer) and The Addams Family Musical (Assistant Scenic Designer).

TRACEY LYONS (Costume Designer) has designed for the CBC, Lincoln Theatre Guild, The Huron Playhouse, Madison Ballet, Madison Theatre Guild, American Folklore Theatre, UW– Madison Music Department and many other theatres. She has toured internationally with Sesame Street Live. Her professional scope includes classical and contemporary theatre, dance, opera, and musicals. She authored Sewing Techniques for Theatre and co-authored Teaching Introduction to Theatrical Design (Focal Press). During the summer of 2017, she directed Rounding Third. Her MFA is in Costume Design and Technology from Wayne State University and BA from CSB/SJU.

CARLEE WUCHTERL (Co-Costume Designer) is a senior BFA Design and Technology major with an emphasis in costumes. This will be her first time as Co-Costume Designer at UW-Whitewater. She has designed hair and makeup for previous shows as well as costumes for DanceScapes '19 and '20 at UW-Whitewater. She is working toward attending graduate school in the coming fall and completing her academic career with an MFA in Theatrical Costume Technology and Design.

JACE BANASIK (Sound Designer) is a senior BA in Music with a minor in Theatre and a certificate in Music Theory. This is their first realized production at UW-Whitewater as a designer. Previously, they worked as the Assistant Music Director for The Addams Family Musical. After graduating, they hope to attend graduate school for Music Composition.

SIENA LOMASTRO (Props Designer) is a BFA Design Tech student. This is her third props design at UW-Whitewater and before this she was

artist profilesa board operator for a number of shows last year, as well as part of the props team for Twelfth Night and The Addams Family Musical. Other productions she has been part of are Ghosts, Mary, Mary, Blithe Spirit and Angel Street.

JACOB KRUEGER (Pianist) is a junior BM Choral Education major. This is his first time being involved in a production at UW-Whitewater, and he had a blast! After graduating, Jacob hopes to build a successful high school choir program somewhere in Wisconsin.

Today, everything feels divisive. Black or white, left or right, pro or anti, supportive or not are the options we choose between in world full of nuance. We stand in judgement of one another, vitriolically standing by or condemning others’ beliefs and choices. Rarely, if ever, do we step back and seek to understand how or why someone came to their way of thinking. We lack empathy. Vanity Fair forces us to confront that judgement in ourselves, that lack of empathy. It asks us, “What will future generations think of YOUR actions?” It calls into question our right to judge, and reminds us of the impact of others’ judgements on ourselves. I cannot think of something more necessary for all of us to consider and wrestle with right now. And this play does it with care, humor, joy, and compassion. It is a story of growing up, and reaping what you intentionally, and unintentionally, sow.

Scholarship fund help us continue recognizing extraordinary talent in acting, design and management, and make a huge difference to our students. In addition, script royalties, costumes and sets are all costly and direct financial support or donated goods and services help us

stretch our budgets further. There are also opportunities to help with our annual regional theatre and dance festival trips, where students

attend workshops and compete in design, choreography and performance, with the possibility of continuing on to the Kennedy Center in
