WHAT IS GREEN IMPACT?• the Green Impact Scheme is an environmental awards programme run by the

National Union of Students.

• It currently operates in more than 60 universities across the UK and within the University of Sheffield there are 35 participating departments

• The Green Impact Scheme is about more than turning off a few lights – it is about transforming our department to make it ethnical, environmentally friendly and socially responsible. We think it is a worthwhile enterprise – and we hope that you do too

• The Department of Archaeology has formed a Green Impact Group to champion the initiative and instigate changes within the department. The group is formed of staff and students from across the department. Anyone can join & everyone is welcome!

Thinking of cycling to work over the coming spring or summer? Hopefully it will warm up a little more - but we're seeing the first signs of spring on the way!

There are a few places in the university that you can get a helping hand with all things to do with bicycles. The following university webpage has help with bikes and advice.

http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/efm/property_business_services/transport/cyclingThere is help from the `Cycle Hut', that offers help and advice, as well as servicing and repairs. There are also showers scattered around the campus for cyclists. But you may have to arrange

access with the department concerned.http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/cycleforum/showers

Some of the showers are pretty close to us!

…or GO BIKING!
