MANDATES

The Department of Agriculture is a government agency responsible for the promotion of agricultural development by providing the policy framework, public investments, and support services needed for domestic and export-oriented business enterprises. In the fulfillment of this mandate, it shall be the primary concern of the Department to improve farm income and generate work opportunities for farmers, fishermen and other rural workers. It shall encourage people’s participation in agricultural development through sectoral representation in agricultural policy-making bodies. So that the policies, plans and programs of the Department are formulated and executed to satisfy their needs. It shall also use a bottom-up self-reliant farm system approach that will emphasize social justice, equity, productivity and sustainability in the use of agricultural resources.

PLANNING_MONITORING_PROJECT_DEVELOPMENT DIVISION

Functions:

It shall be responsible for the formulation and integrations of plans and programs, emanating from

LGUS, CSO, National Government Agencies, Attached Bureaus and Corporations;

AGRIBUSINESS AND MARKETING ASSISTANCE DIVISION

(AMAD)

Shall conduct research, gather, collate and analyze data related to agribusiness such as laws, regulations, and

taxation, production technologies, market strategies, competition, and new venture considerations relating to agribusiness for the benefit of the Farmers and Fisherfolks.

Shall provide empowerment trainings for entrepreneurial development, package information on agri-business

investment opportunities and provide investment profile for different agricultural products and its markets.

Shall be responsible for identifying markets for the regional agricultural products, assist in the planning for

market access, marketing channels and distribution networks, and shall assist in the credit facilitation of clienteles.

ACCREDITATION PROCEDURES : FOOD LANE PROJECT

1. Secure application form and checklist of requirements from AMAD and pay application fee of P50.00 2. Submit duly filled-up application form and original copy of requirements to AMAD 3. Attend Orientation Seminar on the Food Lane Project; AMAD issues Certificate of Attendance 4. AMAD evaluates and verifies authenticity of submitted documents and endorse the same to AMAS 5. AMAD submits list of applicants to the Sectoral group representative 6. AMAS endorses the application form and supporting documents together with the Certificate of Accreditation to MMDA for approval and

signature of MMDA Chairman or authorized representative 7. MMDA returns the approved and signed Certificate of Accreditation to AMAS for signature of the DA Secretary or authorized representative 8. DA signs the Certificate of Accreditation 9. AMAS releases the laminated Certificate of Accreditation and Food Lane Sticker to AMAD 10. AMAD notifies the applicant and release the approved Certificate of Accreditation and Food Lane Sticker
