DEAR COLLEAGUES,
Regeneration of hard and soft tissue is the main goal for the long-term success of implant therapy. Since
soft as well as hard tissue influences each other in wound healing, stabilization and protection striving for
primary wound healing is essential. In the majority of cases bone augmentation is required. Hence, a large
number of new approaches and materials for hard and soft tissue regeneration have been introduced
enabling to treat highly challenging cases. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University
Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, one of the most innovative clinics for clinicians as well as scientists,
but also private clinics have shown and taught how to achieve successful clinical results in oral surgery
and implantology. Sound knowledge of the principles of wound healing, current treatment methods
and appropriate indications for regenerative materials are essential for satisfactory and successful treat-
ment outcomes.
Due to the great importance of regeneration as one of the main success factors, we have developed a
clinical and scientific curriculum focusing on bone and soft tissue regeneration – to provide you with the
necessary concepts, practice and experience, contents and knowledge you are not taught in implanto-
logy master courses.

THE CURRICULUM – GENERAL INFORMATION
The curriculum ‘Dental Regeneration Specialist’ was initiated by the University Medical Center Hamburg-
Eppendorf (UKE) and is organized in cooperation with botiss biomaterials GmbH. Internationally acknow-
ledged experts from universities and private clinics will teach the participants all aspects of dental bone and
tissue regeneration. The curriculum is primarily intended for dental implantologists, periodontists and
general practitioners with elementary experience in dental implantology and the aim to extend their know-
ledge in the field of dental regeneration with state-of-the-art surgical techniques and procedures.
The curriculum consists of six two-day modules (Friday and Saturday) each covering a different aspect of
dental tissue regeneration and a seventh module for the final oral examination. In addition, on the evening
before each module (Thursday evening) there will be the chance to discuss own cases or topics from one of
the previous modules and listen to a special focus lecture. Small groups of maximum 20 participants ensure
high quality learning. The course offers a qualified mix of lectures and practical exercises. Modules 2-4
include hands-on training on pig jaws. Module 6 is an anatomical course on human cadavers and mainly
comprises practical exercises.
The course will start in November 2019. One part of the modules will take place in Hamburg, the other part
in Berlin.
After successfully passing the final examination held at module 7, the participants will be awarded the title
and certificate ‘Dental Regeneration Specialist – certified by UKE’.
LOCATION: Modules 1-3, 6 and 7 in Hamburg, Modules 4 and 5 in Berlin
DATES: Start November 2019, final examination November 2020
(please find precise dates on the next pages)
COSTS: 12.500,- € (plus VAT), including board and lodging during the 7 modules
The course fee includes:
- Two nights in a 4**** hotel per module (Thursday to Saturday), catering
during the course (lunch and coffee breaks), dinner on Friday evening
during each module
- Free congress participation at one regeneration focused congress
(bone & tissue days)
You will receive the bank details once you have been admitted to the program.
The fees are payable on two equal installments, the first being due before the
first module and the second after the third module.
SCHEDULE: 6 modules with two full-days (Friday, Saturday) plus lecture evening
(Thursday), 7th module comprising the final examination
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: max. 20
CREDIT POINTS: The curriculum is certified by the Regional Dental Authority
(KZV) Hamburg with 133 CME points*
REGISTRATION: www.botiss-campus.com
* The event complies with the current guidelines for dental education of the National Associa-tion of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV), the German Dental Association (BZKÄ) and the German Society for Dental and Oral Medicine (DGZMK). Further, the event complies with the point evaluation for continuing education of the BZÄK and the DGZMK.
