Objectives:

To explain what demonstrative adjectives are and to practise their use

Demonstrative adjectives

In English they are = This/ that, these/ those

We do not have a specific word for this/that

They must agree in gender and number with the following noun

Masculine Feminine Plural (masc and

Fem)

Ce/cet * cette ces

In French they are

•Use only when the following noun starts with a vowel or an H

•Ex: cet hotel, cet homme, cet ami

Demonstrative adjectives

EXAMPLES:

J’aime ce pull I like this/that jumper

Je n’aime pas cet hôtel I don’t like this/that hotel

Je voudrais cette jupe I would like this/that skirt

J’aimerais ces CDs I would like these/those CDs
