Saving Lives and Supporting Development for Cambodia
Removing Threats, Returning Hopes And Building A Prosperous Future
DEMINING TOOL BOXES’ INTEGRATION After having examined the sources of problems in demining operations, the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), in Order
to strengthen, improve work effectiveness, speed up the operations, quality and quantity of CMAC Mine Action Tools, the
concept of Integration Demining Tool Box has been established, and capturing all their own standard operating procedures in-
cluding the additional guidelines which are being in hand to integrate Mine Detection Dog Team (MDD) with the Brush
Cutter (BC) and Mobile Platoon (MPL) or the other Mobile Teams.
Demining Tool Boxes’ Integration Structure
The Operational Process for Demining Tools’ Integration: One minefield manager is absolutely assigned to manage and responsible for the minefield site where is ongoing clearance
when the operation is needed to integrate in that minefield, for good governance in both of command and control as well as
the management with respecting to regulations, roles and high responsibilities during the operation and follow on Demining
Tool Box Integration Organization Chart.
Within this situation, the Brush Cutter works must deploy to start cutting vegetation in the minefield first at least for 3 days
to 1 week in advance for opening lanes and creating boxes for the MDD Teams.

or Mobile Platoons, and then the MDD or MPL will be deployed for demining operation after cutting vegetation.
The Brush Cutters, MDD and other platoons must apply the same procedure.
The Expected Output from Demining Tools’ Integration: 1 BC: Landmine clearance at least 5-6 hectares /month integration with MPL or MDD.
1 MPL: Landmine clearance at least 3.5 – 5.5 hectares per month integration with BC.
1 MDD Team: Landmine clearance at least 3 – 5 hectares per month integration with BC.
Mine Field Criteria for Demining Tools’ Integration: - Minefields with heavy-long grasses, heavy bushes, thick crowed bamboo clump and thick jungle, Hard soil,
rocky soil, lateritic soil, un-flooded land, sloppy ground, un-sink soil and/or area where has no the big
rocks.
- High or low density of landmines and all types of UXOs (no limitation),
The advantage from Demining Tools’ Integration: Possible to conduct landmine operation for all minefield criteria’s.
Increasing operational speed, higher productivities, save time and cost reduction.
