DEMENTIA AWARENESS MONTH “You are not alone”Dementia Awareness Month runs from 1 September to 30 September.

Kogarah Community Services is committed to fostering a dementia friendly community, a place where people living with dementia are supported to live a

high quality of life filled with meaning, purpose and value.

Dementia information table will be set up at Kogarah Neighbourhood Centre (90 Railway Parade) every Wednesday during Dementia Awareness Month.

01/09 Launch of Dementia Awareness Month Guest speaker Sladana Pavkovic, Dementia Advisor from Alzheimer’s Australia NSW is joining us.Morning tea will be provided.

06/09 “The Recently Diagnosed with Dementia" information session Facilitated by Alzheimer's Australia NSW & light refreshments will be provided.

07/09 Free Tai Chi class & healthy afternoon tea

12/09 & 13/09 Caring for the Carers - meditation session & self care journal Facilitated by Camille Valvo, Corporate facilitator. Light refreshments will be provided.

20/09 Art and Memory Keepsake Workshop Facilitated by an art therapist Sandie Jessamine & a guest speaker Paula Douglas from CPSA (Combined Pensioners & Superannuants Association of NSW) and morning tea will be provided.

21/09 Collection day at Kogarah Neighbourhood Centre (90 Railway Parade Kogarah)We will be collecting donations on behalf of Alzheimer's Australia.

29/09 Closing of Dementia Awareness Month Reminiscing sessions will be run by Hurstville Museum & Gallery and morning tea will be provided.
