American Respiratory Care Foundation

Annual awards for a minority undergraduate student who is enrolled in an AMA accredited respiratory care training program and has completed at least one semester of the program.

A 3.0 GPA, birth certificate, visa or proof of citizenship, SS card, enrollment

cerification, 6 copies of an original referenced paper on respiratory care, official transcripts, and specific letters of recommendation are required. 

The Foundation prefers that nominations be made by the school/program, but any student may initiate a request of sponsorship by the school in order that a deserving candidate is not denied the opportunity to compete.

Taylor Michaels Scholarship Fund The Taylor Michaels Scholarship Fund, a program of the Magic Johnson

Foundation, is designed to provide support for deserving inner-city high school students who demonstrate a strong potential for academic achievement but face socioeconomic conditions that hinder them from achieving that potential.

Since its inception in 1998, the fund, which has several components (e.g., a mentoring program, an internship program, and Life and Practical Skills Seminars), has provided 83 students with financial assistance to attend the college or university of their choice.

Applicants must meet the following criteria: be a senior in high school with plans to attend a four-year college or university; have at least a 2.5 GPA; and be a resident of Atlanta, Cleveland, Houston, Los Angeles, or New York. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of (1) a written essay, (2) cumulative grade point average (2.5 and above), and (3) financial need as determined by the Magic Johnson Foundation.
