3 Technical Considerations3.1 Updated Security Configuration of RolesThe current release contains an updated security configuration of Roles.
A new System Administrator Role has been added. All FlexParts and Menu Items delivered in a standard installation of DELMIA Apriso are assigned to this Role.
FlexParts and Menu Items are not assigned to any other Role, and such assignments must be created manually after installation.
The System Administrator Role is assigned to the Admin user. Other users delivered in a standard DELMIA Apriso installation have no Roles assigned.
These changes in security configuration of Roles will not be applied when upgrading from a previous version of DELMIA Apriso.
3.2 Discontinued Features/Potential Issues after UpgradeThe following changes may potentially impact the upgradability of your solution. Please read this section carefully before the actual upgrade and follow the recommendations provided.
3.2.1 Dashboard Configuration
A dashboard that was created in a previous version that had its name defined and saved without any configuration done results in an "empty" dashboard. This type of dashboard configuration will not convert properly in the APUU and will result in a warning in the APUU Dashboard Converter Step. If you try to open this dashboard in the Dashboard Repository, an error will be displayed. To fix this issue, the dashboard must be deleted and created again.
3.2.2 UI Style Improvements
Dassault Systèmes is continuously working on the user interface capabilities and is improving and fixing the default style delivered with the product. We are aware that changes – no matter how minor – may affect the look and feel of the Processes and Operations that have already been built based on former versions, but we need to perform these changes with the development of the product.
The current release contains style updates related to both new functionalities and fixes. We are also trying to add new CSS classes whenever we find it valuable.
The updated style will be used as the default following the upgrade to DELMIA Apriso 2019, as we want to enforce its use. However, because of the reasons mentioned above, Dassault Systèmes recommends you manually back up the style formerly used until the Processes and Operations are tested and functional.
DELMIA Apriso | DELMIA Apriso 2019 Release Notes 14
The former style (theme) may be used at all times, but users must be aware that it is outdated and may not contain the classes that the new DELMIA Apriso 2019 functionalities require to be displayed properly.
Dassault Systèmes recommends reviewing the changes introduced in the default style upon each release and applying them to the custom one (if used).
3.3 Known IssuesAt Dassault Systèmes, we are actively working to deliver the highest quality product. Nevertheless, it is not possible to isolate or fix every issue present in the product, as these often stem from issues with third-party software that is a prerequisite for using DELMIA Apriso.
The following is a list of known issues in DELMIA Apriso 2019, which we will continue to work on in future releases, as well as suggested workarounds.
A GPM Package containing an Action Script does not compile it after the deployment (110143)
Symptoms
During Package deployment, the GPM Package cannot compile an Action Script whereas in most scenarios the deployment is finished with a "success" status. The appearance of this error can be found only in GPM Service log files.
Problem Description
The GPM service passes wrong information about Action Scripts inside a package to the PB Service which is responsible for compiling them.
Workaround
Compile Action Scripts in Process Builder manually after deployment of the GPM Package.
Impacted Area
Global Process Manager
Some dashboards or cube views may not render correctly when screen resolution is not sufficient (109966)
Symptoms
When a dashboard or cube view has many items or complex charts, they will limit the minimum resolution at which the entire dashboard or cube view is rendered correctly. If the browser window is too small, these dashboard or cube view items will not scale down, and will render incorrectly without scrollbars.
Problem Description
This is a third party issue.
DELMIA Apriso | DELMIA Apriso 2019 Release Notes 15
Workaround
When designing dashboards and cube views, bear in mind the resolution at which they will be displayed. Try rearranging dashboard or cube view layout if you encounter any display issues.
Impacted Area
Dashboard Repository, Cube View 2.0 Repository, Operations Monitoring Console
Keeping a Screen Flow Screen open for a long time causes a memory increase in the DELMIA Apriso Desktop Client and Chrome (105509)
Symptoms
If a Screen Flow Screen containing the clock control is open for a long time in the DELMIA Apriso Desktop Client (ADC) or Chrome, memory consumption increases consistently.
Problem Description
The issue is caused by a memory leak in Chrome, or in the embedded CefSharp browser if the ADC is used. This is a known issue with Chrome and the embedded CefSharp browser which uses the Chrome engine.
Impacted Area
DELMIA Apriso Desktop Client, Process Builder
Deleting a Parameter in use causes an error (109391)
Symptoms
When you remove Parameter which is in use, a JavaScript error will be logged in the browser console. Parameter will be removed only after you reload the dashboard.
Problem Description
This is a third-party issue which will be fixed in a later release.
Impacted Area
Dashboard Repository
A security warning may be displayed when downloading EXE and MSI files in Internet Explorer (90746)
Symptoms
If the user has certain Microsoft Windows security updates installed, a security warning may be displayed in Internet Explorer when downloading EXE and MSI files from the DELMIA Apriso Start page (e.g., when downloading the DELMIA Apriso client).
DELMIA Apriso | DELMIA Apriso 2019 Release Notes 16
Problem Description
The EXE and MSI files are signed with a certificate which is encrypted by the deprecated SHA-1 algorithm.
Workaround
When the warning is displayed, run the application manually.
Impacted Area
DELMIA Apriso Setup
Export/Import from Excel in Machine Integrator does not support OPC UA complex types and methods (97756)
Symptoms

The Selection Grid 2.0 and Grid Business Controls do not support the export to file functionality in the Safari Web browser for mobile devices (53486)
Symptoms
When running an Operation with the Grid Business Controls, after clicking the Export button, the loading icon appears, but the exported document is not opened.
Problem Description
It is not possible to use the export functionality because of the export mechanism in the Selection Grid 2.0 and Grid Business Controls. The mobile Safari Web browser does not support file downloads.
Impacted Area
Selection Grid 2.0 Business Control, Grid Business Control
DELMIA Apriso | DELMIA Apriso 2019 Release Notes 17
Warehouse Utilization measures are recalculated after Warehouse Location capacity update (63919)
Symptoms
Warehouse Location capacity update causes that Warehouse Utilization measures are recalculated for this particular Warehouse Location. This results in incorrect historical data.
Problem Description
With the implementation of the WAREHOUSE_LOCATION_DIMENSION table, Volume and Weight dimension codes (Space and Weight Capacity on Data Warehouse) are based on the WarehouseLocationID instead of WAREHOUSE_LOCATION business key (Facility, Warehouse, Zone, Location).
Impacted Area
Warehouse Utilization measures
Inserting special characters in the text fields of web cockpits may cause an error (70094)
Symptoms
If a user inserts a special character (e.g., ` ' & # ^ % $ @) into the text fields of Web Cockpits (e.g., into a filter or name field), the following error message may be displayed: "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client […]".
Problem Description
The error message is generated due to the security mechanism implemented in the cockpits. It prevents inserting a harmful code into text fields in order to block the unauthorized interception of data.
Workaround
Follow this path and open the file: <drive>\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\DELMIA Apriso 2019\WebSite\Portal\Web.config. Modify the pages key to achieve this result:
<pages controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion="4.0" validateRequest="false">
In some Windows Server versions (e.g., 2008 and 2012), the httpRuntime key needs to be modified as well to achieve this result:
<httpRuntime executionTimeout="600" useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" requestValidationMode="2.0"/>
Impacted Area
Web Cockpits
DELMIA Apriso | DELMIA Apriso 2019 Release Notes 18
DELMIA Apriso in the Turkish language requires a workaround due to a third-party issue (76476)
Symptoms
When the interface language (and culture) is set to Turkish, DELMIA Apriso is unable to properly load data from the database. This results in the incomplete loading of pages as well as errors that arise when data critical for screen loading is inaccessible.
Problem Description
The problem is caused by a bug in the third-party framework used by DELMIA Apriso (Microsoft .NET Framework) and cannot be resolved. Due to incorrect conversion of the Turkish letter "i" (I,i) by some methods (e.g., "ToLower()"), resolution is impossible. In many cases these are the methods used to retrieve data from the database. Such methods are used by the (third-party) Microsoft .NET Framework and cannot be resolved.
Workaround
DELMIA Apriso can still be translated into the Turkish language using a different (unused) locale to store the literals, but only if the localization settings (e.g., the date/time format) for this locale are acceptable.
Impacted Area
Localization
The deployment of MPI packages using 32-bit RAP DI, and of MPI projects using the 32-bit Integration Services Deployment Wizard, is not possible (77282)
Symptoms
It is not possible to deploy large MPI packages using 32-bit RAP DI. "There is not enough space on the disk" exception occurs.
The same exception occurs whenever the user attempts to deploy an MPI .ispac project generated from an MPI package, as this will invoke the 32-bit Integration Services Deployment Wizard.
Workaround
To avoid performance issues, MPI packages should be deployed using 32-bit RAP DI, and MPI projects should be deployed using the 64-bit Integration Services Deployment Wizard.
Impacted Area
RAP DI
