Progress Report for the month of july - 2017

Classes LKG to II 8

th JULY 2017:

Orientation programme for RTE children was conducted.

All the parents of RTE children were called to the primary wing and briefed about the

syllabus already covered in LKG. They were offered to send their children for remedial

classes from 8am to 10:30am on every working Saturday so that the children can cope up

with the syllabus.

JULY 2017:

Mrs. Rashmi Pathak attended ECE programme at HRD Dwarka & she organised a similar

workshop was held by for the teachers of Primary Wing. The topic was “Inculcating

creativity in children”.

She had prepared well for the workshop and had arranged few interesting games for the

teachers which really geared up the atmosphere.

Our Principal Sir Dr. Janardan Pandey also attended the workshop and praised the efforts

JULY2017:

Regular classes commenced in Primary Wing after E-I.

20th

JULY 2017:

PTM was held from 4pm to 6pm in which the parents were invited to verify the E-I answer

scripts of their wards.

22nd

JULY 2017:

Remedial classes for RTE children commenced. Saturday being off for LKG children was

utilised for this purpose. Remedial class was held from 8am to 10:30am and this will continue

on every working Saturday.

A video of Rashtrapati Bhawan was shown to all the students from Class Prep to II in the

smart class.

28th

JULY 2017: Fancy dress competition was held . It was open to all. The theme for classes

LKG& Prep children was Fruit parade and for classes I & II was Vegetable parade.

The children took part in large numbers and looked very beautiful. The feel was very good. It

appeared as if we are sitting in a farm house with fruits and vegetables around us.

Each child who enacted as a fruit or a vegetable spoke about its nutritive value .Thus it was

fun as well as a very educative programme.

the sketch of butterfly and enjoyed listening to the story of the colourful butterfly.

HINDI ACTIVITY – After reading the lesson „Gudiya‟, children enjoyed making paper

dolls using coloured papers.

MATHS ACTIVITY – The children were taught subtraction through paper cuttings.

EVS activity – Nutritious food party was organised in the class during the break in which the

children spoke about the nutritional value of the tiffin he/she had brought.

CLASS - II

ENGLISH ACTIVITY –Learnt to use positive personality adjectives by doing circle time

activity.

HINDI ACTIVITY – After learning lesson of Ibnbatuta, children collected and pasted things

that were light and could fly, in their scrapbook.

MATHS ACTIVITY – Learnt Place value and Face value of three digit numbers using flash

cards.

EVS ACTIVITY – Did scrap book activity in which children learnt to make temporary

houses such as house boat, tent, igloo etc. in their scrap book.

31 JULY 2017: A session on Behavioural Pattern in young children was organised by

Dr. Sushma Prabhu (Psychologist). In this she spoke about the Behavioural changes in

children which is a common concern of parents .Parents as well as teachers discussed their

problems with her .Overall the session was very enlightening.

A workshop on „Importance of nutrition and good health in children‟ was also conducted by

Mrs. Rashmi Pathak for the parents. The parents were told that it is their responsibility to

instill healthy habits in children from the time they are young .They should talk about healthy

food and prepare nutritious food and snacks for their child which in turn will make their child

more energetic .She had also prepared a game on healthy and unhealthy food .The workshop

was indeed very educative.

CLASSES III TO V

14th

July, 2017:

E1 of class III-V and Periodic Tests of classes VI-VIII and Pre-Mid Term of classes

IX to XII ended on 14th July, 2017.

18th

July, 2017:

A special assembly was held by Hindi Department. The students of III-V gave lively

performances. They present a wonderful skit, song, dances which enthralled one and

all. They put a fabulous show under the guidance of Hindi Teachers. The programme

was liked and appreciated by all the members of DPS Vindhyanagar family.

20th

July 2017:

A mesmerizing assembly was put up by classes III-V on 20th

July, 2017 to celebrate

Vanmahotsav. Parents also witnessed this programme as a special invitee. It was

captivating show which ended with a beautiful message and urge to save environment

and mother earth. After the show parents, students, teachers and the Principal did

plantation. The parents appreciated the assembly and thanked to the school for

arranging such type of unique programmes in school. In the same assembly the

medals and medal of excellence were given away to School Toppers and Medal

Winners of 2016-17 of Mathematics and Science Olympiad conducted by Science

Olympiad Foundation (SOF). The names of the students are as given below:

PTM for E1 for classes III-V, Periodic Tests for class VI-VIII and Pre Mid-Term for

classes IX-XII was held on 20th

July, 2017 from 4.30 p.m to 6.30 p.m. The parents

met with the teachers, discussed the problems of their ward/s. Answer scripts were

distributed to the parents and students by the class teachers.

Inter House Hindi Speech Competition was conducted. The competition was judged

by Mrs. Swati Bansal and Mrs. Uma Rao. The students gave exemplary and

July, 2017:

It was proud moment for Delhi Public School, Vindhyanagar when one of its three

teams of Junior, Middle and Senior level teams got selected for National level in a

mega event of Regional level competition conducted in Maitri Sabhagar of NTPC

Vindhyachal. This quiz show was conducted by NTPC Ltd. more than 4000 students

took part and finally 5 teams of NTPC Northern Region took part. These teams were

of NTPC Rihand, NTPC Shaktinagar, NTPC Unchahar, NTPC Auraiya, and NTPC

Vindhyachal. The Quiz Show was conducted by renowned internationally acclaimed

quiz master. The DPS Vindhyanagar emerged victorious defeating all the school

participated in all three groups of Junior, Middle and Senior. It is one more milestones

added in the annals of DPS Vindhyanagar. The Junior level team (IV-VI) group which

qualified for the National level is as follows:

30th July, 2017:

The students and teachers of DPS Vindhyanagar added one more feather in the cap of

DPS Vindhyanagar by securing various positions in the Story Writing and Essay

Writing Competition held on the occasion of Munshi Prem Chand Jayanti. This

competition was conducted by the NTPC Vindhyachal, Hindi Department. The

student who made us proud from class V by bagging 1st position is as follows.

Amidst the atmosphere of exams, NTPC organized Medha Pratiyogita for NTPC students. It

was thought that the response would be weak but surprisingly 40- 50- students appeared for it

and the results were overwhelming. Six teams have been selected for the 2nd

phase to be held

on 29th

at Lucknow. Students have once again made us proud.

Doubt clearing classes and classes for competitive exam aspirants (4.30p.m.-6.00p.m.)

A new initiative by Principal Sir, much appreciated by parents and students found them quite

interesting. The number increased daily and teachers came up with new methods of teaching.

Assuredly, these classes boosted the level of confidence of the Competitive exam aspirants

and their preparation would be better.

JULY’17- HINDI ASSEMBLY

Hindi Language and its deep rootedness in its use in India was extremely well displayed by

the Hindi Department and students presentation of poems, diction, speeches, skits and

knowledge about the origin of words and their use in Hindi all added to the sweetness of this

language and enriched the students. Many facts of Hindi as an ancient language were

revealed and it did leave an interesting impact on the minds of the children.

JULY’17-PTM- 4.30 TO 6.00 P.M.

Parents came with their wards for answer script verification. They spent time discussing

about their wards performance, cleared their doubts and appreciated the new initiatives taken

by the the Principal regarding Wats app group of each class, homework being sent on daily

basis and other areas such as competition dates and results immediately informed in the group

etc.

JULY’17-

INTER-HOUSE GROUP DISCUSSION (HINDI)-TOPIC-SHIKSHA KA MOOL

UDDESHYA SHRESHTH MAANAV KA NIRMAN KARNA HAI.

Students exposed their best skills and presented interesting debate and discussion left the

judges and the audience spellbound. It was a „never before show‟ and was appreciated by one

and all.

It all ended with words of encouragement by the judges and our most honourable Principal

Sir.

PHASE MEDHA PRATIYOGITA:

Selected students entered the competition held at RUSSIAN AUDITORIUM by NTPC

OFFICIALS at REGIONAL LEVEL. Schools from neighbouring areas had also

participated.DPS(V)teams with their outstanding performance left the audience and quizzers

spellbound as in all the groups they stood first. Soc.Sc. teachers and a few others were

instrumental in their preparation during special classes held in the evening a week before the

big day. They have all made us proud once again.

RESULT:-

NTPC held competitions (in the mid- week of July ) as a tribute to the greatest HINDI

writer MUNSHI PREMCHAND on his BIRTH ANNIVERSARY. Students from DPS (V )

participated in all the competitions held, and once again proved themselves as strong

competitors with their excellent knowledge of this great writer and added feathers to the cap

of DPS ( V). The second prize for re-writing of any story of Munshi Prem Chand in 1000

words was bagged by Snigdha Dwivedi class VII D.

Classes IX - XII

The month of July stood as a very promising month where performances proved the input of

effort. Following the latest pattern of evaluation, school scheduled its content and planned the

date sheet. Pre-Mid Term for classes 9-12 commenced on 5th July 2017 and closed on 14th

July. PTM for verification of answers scripts was scheduled on 20th July where parents could

discuss the performance of their wards at length.

Teachers were instructed to discuss question paper along with their standard answers.

Special Hindi Assembly:

On 18th

July Special Hindi Assembly was conducted by Hindi Department. A large number

of children was deliberately given opportunity to be on the dias and earn on-stage confidence.

Hindi is national language and it should be felicitated with pride and grace. It's a root

language and stands inevitable sustaining its ever green glory.

Inter House Talent Show:

On 22nd

July Inter House Talent Show was conducted as scheduled in the calendar. Each

house with its uncommon concepts and exceptional performances mesmerised the audience,

thus made it difficult for the judges to put them in rank index. However Yamuna house won

the competition with its brilliant and stunning approach to present its performance.

Sanskrit Assembly:

On 24th July Special Sanskrit Assembly was conducted through their presentation. They

spoke out several facts about the language and specified the golden prospect of the language.

Popular Bollywood scenes and popular Bollywood songs translated in Sanskrit were

performed and each of them were heart-stealing.

Inter House Quiz Competition:

On 29th Inter house Quiz Competition was conducted. The students who were finally

selected to present their houses underwent 2 preliminary rounds. The show holding a great

vista in questions put every participant to toes. Audio, video and rapid fire rounds made the

students to evacuate their knowledge bank very intelligently. Prompt replies and ripping

recalling could only bring them on top. Finally Jhelum House with 55 score reserved itself on

the first hand.

Precisely speaking the month did its executions of duties to live upto the expectations of the

school successfully.

26th July – Constitution of New PTA:

On 26th July the PTA Members of session 2016-17 were given farewell. The occasion also

witnessed the occasion of New PTA secretary for the session 2017-18.

The enthusiasm of PTA members of session 2016-17 was commendable. It ensured the much

needed support & guidance in the matter of grooming of Dipsites.

All the members were asked to introduce themselves and select a PTA Secretary and a Joint

Secretary among themselves while the members of the staff moved out for the assigned time.
