Several historic bridges have been incorporated into pedestrian trail projects within the county, which illustrates the value residents places on these structures. In 1887, the Ball Brothers moved their company to Muncie, Indiana to take advantage of the abundant natural gas reserves. Although no longer manufacturered by the company, the glass home-canning jars made Ball a household name.
